I agree with this.
Whatever the figures show, the disclosure will be used to ramp up hostility. Because if they are high the fear mongering will be off the scale, and if they're not, then it will be framed as a government conspiracy with figures doctored. OP is prepping for this already with talk of 'redactions'.
Whatever, its going to become increasingly risky for people who are not percieved to be white British.
Because the 'protesters' are not all discerning and are not all the brightest. We've already had them harassing a cricket team because they were brown, young, male and on a coach; and black British children terrorised when a summer camp was mistaken for a refugee camp and the children's Welsh accents mistaken for 'foreign' ones.
No one with any sense or decency should be calling to fuel this fire.

I completely understand why her family would want that, and I also recognise that transparency might be the best way to stop misinformation spreading. But I do also understand the need to cautious about statistics being stripped of context and weaponised by certain groups to inflame anti-immigrant sentiment, stoke community tensions and even excuse violence. There’s already so much heat around this: I’m sure everyone here was horrified by the footage of protestors - some of whom seemed to have young children with them - shouting, “let them drown” through loud speakers. I think it’s complex, and I don’t think pretending it isn’t helps anyone.

Given that he or one of his cronies released footage of him doing it, I find it hard to imagine him not being convicted. And I can't see him getting much less than 6 years, either. Possibly more, depending on how much weight the judge attaches to the aggravating factors.

Hopefully Antifa are dwindling but somehow I doubt it. I don't attend protests of any kind, so I'm not likely to be caught up by their violent antics when obligatory counter protests are organised. Violence spins across both sides of the spectrum.

What happened to Rhiannon Whyte was a horrific tragedy, but I don’t think it should be weaponised to make sweeping generalisations about a whole group of people, in the same way I don’t think Sarah Everard’s horrific murder should be used to make sweeping generalisations about all police officers.

Beyond that, I also still don’t really see how the Labour government is uniquely accountable for the number of migrants arriving on small boats. From what I understand, the Conservatives tried to stop the boats and did not achieve it. Labour are now also trying to stop the boats and have not yet achieved it. It doesn’t feel like a problem any one political party has a viable solution for.

And I also really don’t believe if the boats stopped overnight, all our country’s ills would miraculously be solved.

I can't recall any specific incidents or events that have been attributed to Antifa (unlike the old Anti-Fascist Action of the '80s, who were basically a bunch of disgruntled Trots from the SWP who hated the Guardian-reading Libs of the Anti-Nazi League).

And I haven't heard so much as a whisper of Antifa getting involved in any anti-racist or mainstream left activities. It may be that I'm not as much in the loop as I used to be now that I'm ancient and far too decrepit to get up to stuff like sitting in the road and refusing to move, but I know a few much younger people who are involved in a lot of active anti-racist, left and Green groups and they never mention Antifa.

Tommy Robinson wouldn't either, the two of them are quite friendly.

That was a very tragic incident but that doesn't disprove that white men are more of a danger to woman.
