Pain in c section scar

Hi,

Posting on here for traffic.

For the past 3 days I’ve been having sharp pains in my c section scar. I had DD almost 3 years ago and I have no other children so it’s just the one c section.

Im not sure if it’s just one of the side effects of having a c section or if I should get it seen to? Have been trying to let it run its course but it’s not going away.

For context, I’ve had spotting, pain in between periods, pain randomly during my cycle when I poop, constant lower back pain, extreme fatigue, and other symptoms for which I had an US scan last week as doctor and I had some chats about possible endo. The lady who did the scan said ‘there was nothing to worry about and that my gp would have the results in a week’. I’m not sure if the two are linked (the pain in the c section scar and all of the other symptoms) or if it just a normal side effect.

I've had 3 csections in 2.5 years but with all I still got and get the odd sharp pain sometimes. I did experience pain around ovulation time after my last baby and have a little spotting from time to time . It might be worth getting another opinion though if you feel you weren't listened to. But a clear scan is reassuring xx

I’ve had 2 C-sections , 18/15 years ago, and never had a pain.

Spotting and pain are common symptoms.

So I looked and it’s called a Caesarean scar niche. It’s where the scar tissue forms a little pouch or fold, and blood etc can get trapped in there, causing many problems. Apparently it’s actually fairly common but hugely under diagnosed.

I can’t remember the name of it, but I saw something recently (on Instagram, so can’t comment on the accuracy) re a sort of pocket that can form in the scar and cause pain and other symptoms. I will see if I saved the post.
I get pain in the scar sometimes, 19 years old now. I have a lot of scar tissue and a c-section shelf tum, I wasn’t stitched up very well the second time.

I can’t help with any info on c sections - but I have had pain in scar tissue years after and I was told to massage the scar every day a few times with oil or lotion, anything to just massage and soften the scar tissue as that can cause pain. The other symptoms you have are a worry for you though
