AIBU to worry endometriosis symptoms will be dismissed because I have children?

I’ve finally got an appointment today to see a consultant regarding years of painful periods, pain during sex, heavy periods etc. the drs think I may have endo which could be the case as my mum and sister both have/had it.

the thing is, I’ve got 3 kids and I know infertility is a common symptom.
Aibu to be worried in thinking I will just get fobbed off because I’ve had kids?

I’ve tried every birth control , it doesn’t manage the symptoms nor does it help. I’ve had scans upon scans although I’m aware it doesn’t show up on scans.

i want this to be over or atleast find a cause for my pain and troubles I’m just worried I will get fobbed off 😬😩😩

Has anybody got any advice and what to expect in this appointment please?

I had to fight for a diagnosis. Nobody cared about my children though.
I had my diagnosis on basis on an operation. Nothing on any scans.

What happened did they refer you for surgery after this initial appointment? I’m not very strong willed and feel like I’ll just nod and go along with what they say 😩 but I’ve literally tried everything and I’ve been suffering for so many years

Literally didn’t even check me didn’t even ask me much just gave me ryeqo? Told me it would send me into a chemically induced menopause and sent me on my way. I left there in tears as her attitude wasn’t nice at all. I’ve since read that these tablets cause low moods bone thinning etc. well I suffer with mental health anyway and I have back problems so I can’t even take them. Surely they check these things? What do I do now?? She point blank refused to do anything else, any investigations nothing just said every lady has endo and deal with it basically

One of the best things I did was join my local support group https://www.endometriosis-uk.org/support-groups I had luckily already been diagnosed and treated but the women I have met have a wealth of knowledge and will be able to give you some tips and pointers to go back to your GP with and hopefully get a referral to a specialist endometriosis centre, if that wasn't where you went today. It might also be worth doing a Subject Access Request for the notes from today's appointment and hopefully there will be something in there that can help you get a second opinion. Even if it's just that the medication isn't suitable because of your medical history or that she didn't follow the NICE guidelines, which are also worth looking up.
