AIBU? Will I get arrested

I’ve just come home from a girls night in London and it was so fun… we left the bar we was in and spent £1000 on brunch in and when we came back the security wouldn’t let us back in. Even though you could book a reservation online.

I was a bit frustrated and said but we’ve spent money in here all day and went to enjoy the rest of our day and spend more? Someone went to check and then another bouncer came out all angry ‘NO REENTRY’ and I asked about 6 times to speak to a manager, which I was told ‘no’ I probably got a bit annoyed but I never was violent or used any threats.

as I walked away I said ‘we’ll spend our money elsewhere then’ and that one bouncer said ‘yeh do!’

my friend went back and felt the need to apologise and the bouncers went ‘don’t worry it’s just him’ and she said she looked at his phone and it said ‘White female, aggressive, police called’

sorry? I wasn’t aggressive, anyway my friend managed to rebook a table in there to prove a point and we went back 30
minutes later and they let us in and we had a great time.

I’ve been up all night, I suffer with anxiety anyway and the police called bit is playing on my mind- my friend told me stop being silly and stop worrying as I’ve done nothing wrong.

but me being me, I’m ofc worrying!

For the police to arrest you they have to have the necessity to do so. From what you have written here this isn't the case. They really have bigger fish to fry.

Sounds like you had a few drinks, the bouncer was being ridiculous and you called him out on it, which is a learning curve for you because some people you really can't reason with.

Just forget about it OP and move on.

Honestly - if a bouncer cannot handle a boozy, slightly gobby woman trying to get in without calling the police he is in the wrong job. Police probably looked at that and fell off their chair laughing and went back to their day job.

He handled it just fine and the odds of the friend being able to see his 0hone and read it is low to non existent, what do you think he was just holding it out for her? 😂

Well I’ve not heard anything today

Pretty shocked about this, piss poor policing we have in this country.
You being an annoying drunk screeching pest on a night out deserves to be banged up for a few days.
Hopefully they are currently going through the CVTV and the crown court is building a case against you… as clearly this is what you want to hear isn’t it #dramaqueen#itsallaboutme#anxiety#itsmypartyandiwilldragthisoutaslongaspossible

If I'd spent £1000 and the bar was empty, with the option to book tables, I'd be irritated to be told I couldn't go back in by some jobsworth bouncer.

OP said they spent £1000 on brunch, not at the bar.

OP said the bar was where they had brunch. So they had spent a £1000 in the place that refused them re-entry

They were probably all like op; pissed and screechy and borderline aggressive. Of course they weren’t welcomed back.

But they were welcomed back, they just had to rebook- which they did, and they returned later.

A lot of bars that take bookings have a ‘no re-entry’ policy and it’s nothing to do with how boozed up the guests are.

Lmnop22 · 20/09/2026 21:51

Dont kick off with bouncers when drunk and ask for the manager like an entitled Karen if you don’t want to be labelled an aggressive female and have the police called.

Imagine how exhausting it is for these bouncers to have to be shouted at for enforcing door policies when at work

vitahelp · 20/09/2026 22:08

This sounds like the kind of thing I would overthink about too! But I can tell you from the outside that there is zero chance anything will come of this. So try to stop worrying and remember what a good time you had.

That’s what I’m hoping for, but I’ve got myself into a tizz of what if they investigate it or something before arresting me. The table for brunch was in my name. Ugh!!!

thing is, if my friend hadn’t seen ‘police called’ I wouldn’t have expected it to turn to that because although I was frustrated, I wasnt violent or giving threats. It’s just because my friend saw that

Stop worrying!!! Police weren't called, you weren't arrested. Chill out!

You are hardly a criminal mastermind! What do you think they are going to charge you with? There was an article in the paper today where some woman sprayed ant killer in this blokes eyes and she got a slap on the wrist. Prisons are full and trust me they haven't got time to mess around with something hurty that someone might have said. Chill out and forget about it

I agree, but my mind is telling me they may arrest me in a few days

For what? If you're genuinely worried you'll be arrested, you know.you did something properly illegal.
So what did you do?

Miaminmoo · 20/09/2026 23:53

You need to drink more water with it if you’re going to get this ridiculous - do you think the police give a toss about an argument with a bouncer?! Also, drinking and anxiety don’t mix well either.

DeeLasVegas · 21/09/2026 03:20

You seriously need to get a grip.

CombatBarbie · 21/09/2026 05:41

mrschocolatte · 20/09/2026 06:14

It is highly unlikely. What is more likely is if you tried to book at the bar again they may refuse it. Not to worry, London is full of great bars.

I am surprised they let you back in on the rebooking tbh. You should have just rebooked online when they said no entry. Its all a numbers game for fire safety and they will keep bookings as a priority over walk ins.

Anyways, how are they going to find you? I have had hangxiety but yours sounds very dramatic.

mumlearningtorun · 21/09/2026 13:39

Nothing today either, I guess I’ll forget it now. Thanks all

This can’t be real 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

ErinAoife · 21/09/2026 14:28

The fact that your friend apologise to the bouncer must mean she thinks you were in the wrong to argue with him. Did they go e a reason why they did not allow you to reenter the venue? Did you get a different bouncer when you came back with a reservation?

Thinking of what? Your question makes about as much sense as you thinking the police are building a case against you for mouthing off to a bouncer.

Do you honestly think the police have nothing better to do?

Mandaxx25 · 21/09/2026 17:50

Do you think the police go and try to locate people off table bookings for being a bit mouthy at the door? You live a very sheltered life if so. They don't even know if it's your real name and they don't know where you live. They also let you back in so they clearly weren't pursuing any legal action or you wouldn't have gotten back into the bar. Seriously some people have anxiety for no reason. This is truly a case of you being silly.
