What would you do if you found out your auntie was on OF?

Am I being unreasonable?

My eldest has asked for access to Tik Tok recently, I dont particularly use this platform myself so we agreed that until mum scopes it out and takes a look we'll hang fire, im not sure. Im very cautious with settings and so far its only WhatsApp my child uses. Snapchat was a definite no!

Anyway, whilst checking it and looking at my own (blank) account that I dont use i saw i had followers, all new to me..... I click the link to see my Auntie on there with a very suggestive username. I click on it and was surprised at the content! No nudes images, but very suggestive, boob's galore 🫣 lets say shes a large blessed lady. But I certainly didn't expect to see my auntie in a school uniform on all fours 🤦‍♀️ or wobbling her assets.

My first thought was.... oh my gosh what if my kids saw this or there friends. Shes also invited and telling ppl in the videos to check her only fans.

I happened to message my mother to see if she knew anything about this, she too was alarmed, she then told my dad (her brother) who wasn't particularly happy. Anyway its now caused a big family drama, causing her and my dad to fall out. Not what I intended. Now im left feeling like its my fault. I do feel bad, shes a grown woman, I just think personality she could have had the decency to have been more private about all this. The comments from total strangers were alarming alone. No consideration for the teens in our family trying to navigate this crazy world, I think of the backlash it could cause and humiliation. I don't want them seeing there great aunt suckling on her finger or wearing pvc lingerie.
My cousin (her daughter) got in touch to say she was disappointed and disgusted in her uncles attitude towards her mum. When I asked if she'd seen or knew about her OF and tik tok she said no, ive always told her im not interested in her content but shes assured me that its all about positive body image for larger ladies. 🤦‍♀️ But my take is if you're staying in the dark you wont see the concern others have. Its a tricky one.

Like I said, shes a grown adult not my business, but as a mum I feel very protective about the lads/teens in our family and if they or there mates came across all this. Its all been blown up 😫 and that wasn't my intention. It was just a bit of a shock, shes my auntie too, my dad did jump and i felt i didn't have time to approach it myself and maybe ask her to adjust her settings. He flew in because he wasn't happy about it. 🤦‍♀️

I don't know this stuff so I can't comprehend how you have accessed it and how your daughter might have ?

Oh yes I didn't think it was a bot. I just thought it sounded like someone who typed into Chatgpt write a MN post based on the following. Very easy to find out if one was bothered to as there's lots of apps that recognise the signs.

And, if you try a few of those apps, they will tell you that this was extremely likely to be human-authored.

Can you stop derailing the thread with posts that, by your own admission, would be pointless if they were accurate, particularly when they're not?

Lurkingandlearning · 20/09/2026 08:55

Your aunt uploaded images of herself to the internet for the world to see. I don’t understand the criticism you are getting for taking about it with your mum. It was public content. I also find your aunt’s and cousin’s reactions a bit disingenuous. Did they really think their family wouldn’t criticise? As soon as you post anything publicly online you leave yourself wide open to criticism. Perhaps this is another example of people believing they can do whatever they please but then want to restrict others doing likewise such as criticising.

Sassylovesbooks · 20/09/2026 08:52

What's done is done. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, after the event. Yes, you should have approached your Aunt directly, and advised her to change her phone number and settings. I understand why you went to your Mum, she's your Mum and you're close. Equally, you should have realised your Mum would tell your Dad, after all it's his sister!!

Of course you don't want your own children or other young family members to see your Aunt in this way. I can understand your concern.

You've not handled the situation great but that's because you were shocked. It may have been better to have sat on the information for several days, and thought about it, rather than made an impulsive decision.

Unfortunately, although you may not have meant to cause a problem, you inadvertently have. All you can do is apologise to your Aunt if you feel you should. Your cousin, if she's on the Town Council, needs to be more concerned the information isn't discovered by her constituents!!!!

I think we might be at cross purposes, I assumed that the post I first commented on was saying that an AI bot wrote the post rather than a person and I was saying I'm sure it's a person

Using AI to write it for you is so routine now that it's not something usually worth pointing out.

It doesn't read like AI, and based on their posting history, I doubt OP is a "he" either.

Bore off.

Yes sorry..typo there. She.

Its not troll hunting. Its just pointing out the post reads like it was written by Chatgpt. Ai is used by lots of people on MN. There's nothing wrong with that particularly. Or if it isnt Ai the OP might be interested to know he writes like Ai.

You caused all the drama by telling your mum who told her brother who told the aunt who spoke to her daughter. Of course it’s shocking and you didn’t want to see it but had you spoken directly to your aunt about her privacy settings there would have been no drama and her dignity preserved.

Not sure there's any dignity to preserve is there? Too late for that.

It obviously isn't AI, and OP has posts going back years.

The troll-hunting is incresibly boring, and likely wrong.

A couple of tweaks here and there...

I promise you. That's AI. Classic GPT. Exactly what it would come up with if you asked it do a MN post about my aunt on OF or whatever parameters the OP put in.

Your auntie shared her OF account publically so she should have expected that her family would find out. You did nothing wrong.

Ultraalox · 20/09/2026 08:36

I’d let her crack on

LaidOnYourBackWithTheBoyWithTheArabStrap · 20/09/2026 08:34

I would either a) tell no one and try and forget I ever saw anything. Or b) talk to my aunt if I was truly concerned about her. You weren’t though. You “happened to” gossip to your mother instead of reaching out to your aunt. Honestly, if I was in your wider family I would be giving you a swerve from now on as you’re clearly all about the drama.

notanothernamesurely · 20/09/2026 08:34

Not your business? What your aunt does in her spare time (so long as it is legal) is no concern of yours. If your kids can see only fans you need to change their settings.

This reads as a fetish post.

Probably because it most likely is.

Strange how these kinds of posts always pop up at a random early morning hour too.

After my DH's rather proper aunt and uncle passed away they were clearing their house out and some really really unpalatable discoveries were made amongst their possessions (sex stuff) - never would have believed it beforehand. Stuff goes on behind closed doors, and if you are unlucky enough to find out about it it does change how you view those people unfortunately. It's very disconcerting.

I would forget I ever saw it.

I think there isn’t enough brain bleach in world that would make that happen.

Yes cors it could be and probably is Ai. Chat gpt can do anything...here's the Ops post written in the style of a geordie

Me eldest has recently asked if she can have TikTok, and I divvent really use the platform mesel, so we agreed that until Mam’s had a proper scope out of it and had a look, we’d just hang fire. I’m still not sure, to be honest. I’m dead cautious with me settings and what the bairns have access to, and at the minute WhatsApp’s the only thing me child uses. Snapchat was a definite NO! 😂

Anyway, whilst I was having a look at it and checking me own account — which is literally blank and I never use — I noticed I had followers. All people I’d never seen before, completely new to me.

So obviously, being the nosy cow that I am, I click on the link to see who they are and there’s me Auntie on there with this very suggestive username. 😳

I click on her profile and I’m absolutely gobsmacked at what I’m seeing. There’s no actual nudes or owt like that, but it’s VERY suggestive. Boobs galore 🫣 Let’s just say she’s a very well-blessed woman, like! 😂

But I certainly did NOT expect to see me Auntie dressed in a school uniform on all fours 🤦‍♀️ or wobbling her assets about for the camera.

Me first thought was, “Oh my God, what if me kids see this? Or one of their mates?!” Because she’s also telling people in the videos to go and check out her OnlyFans.

So I happened to message me Mam just to see if she knew owt about it, and she was just as alarmed as I was. She then tells me Dad — obviously her brother — and he wasn’t particularly happy about it, to say the least.

And now it’s turned into a right family drama, and her and me Dad have fallen out over it. Which honestly was never what I intended at all.

Now I’m sat here thinking it’s somehow all me fault. 😫

I do feel bad, because at the end of the day she’s a grown woman and she can do what she wants. That’s her business. I just think, personally, she could’ve had the decency to be a bit more private about the whole thing.

Some of the comments from complete strangers were alarming enough on their own, never mind the actual videos.

And I keep thinking about the teenagers in our family who are already trying to navigate this mad world. What if one of them comes across it? What if one of me kids is with their mates and me Auntie suddenly pops up on their TikTok dressed in PVC lingerie? 🤦‍♀️

I absolutely divvent want them seeing their great-auntie sucking her finger or wobbling her tits about all over TikTok. Like, come on man. 😭

Me cousin — her daughter — then got in touch saying she was disappointed and disgusted at her uncle’s attitude towards her mam.

So I asked her, “Have you actually seen her TikTok or her OnlyFans? Did you know about any of this?”

And she said no.

She told me she’s always said to her mam that she’s not interested in seeing her content, but she’s assured me that it’s all about positive body image for larger ladies.

And I’m thinking, aye, but if you’re choosing to stay in the dark and not look at it, then you’re never really gonna see why other people might have concerns about it, are ye?

It’s a tricky one, like.

Because, as I’ve said, she’s a grown adult and it’s nowt to do with me what she chooses to do. I’m not trying to tell her how to live her life.

But I’m a Mam, and I feel dead protective over the lads and teenagers in our family. I just keep thinking, what if they or their mates came across all this? I can’t help but think about the backlash, the embarrassment and the potential hassle it could cause them.

It’s all been blown completely out of proportion now 😫 and that honestly wasn’t me intention.

It was just a shock, man. She’s me Auntie as well, and I didn’t really know what to do. I felt like I should’ve had the chance to approach her mesel and maybe just say, “Look, you do what you want, but you might wanna have a look at your settings because this is public and kids could come across it.”

But me Dad jumped straight in because he wasn’t happy about it, and before I knew what was happening he’d flown in and now they’ve fallen out.

Honestly, howay man. I only went on TikTok to see what it was like for me bairn. 😂🤦‍♀️

So someone wrote the OP out in perfect English and then asked the AI to turn it into not very literate?
