Why can't the daily mail just say "Brexit is making you poor"?

Low economic growth is not down to Brexit although I could make the argument that it factors in as we don’t seem to have taken advantage of the freedoms it should have given us. High immigration is suppressing wages, high business operating costs means fewer employment opportunities, high energy costs means production costs are high compared with our competitors.

There many factors as to why we are getting poorer. The trillions of pounds of debt, high energy costs due to massive government levies, billions being spent on things that don’t benefit the country, taxing us all up to the eyeballs, and low economic growth are just a few of the things that feed into this.

Aaaand why do you think we have low economic growth….?

Because it's making the Daily Mail's owners and investors rich, or at least less poor than they would have been if no Brexit. Life is only worse for people who have to care what the supermarket bill is.

Don't forget that for the wealthy, there was a deadline in 2016 that if we hadn't triggered Brexit, various loopholes that allow for funds to be hidden away from tax and scrutiniy would have been targeted by new EU legislatioin. They had to get Brexit triggered before that was brought to bear on all the wealth created in London. For some reason it wasn't in their publicity.

But didn't those regulations come in anyway as a result of the war in Ukraine? Definitely massive changes in UBO transparency.
Not denying that London is still Londonstan in terms of the amount of dirty money laundered through it, but tax secrecy is harder.

At least in the case of the Daily Mail not the worst thing they have supported. In 1936 they supported the Blackshirts.

They certainly weren’t alone in that. The Mirror also supported the Blackshirts, including publishing an article entitled Give the Blackshirts a Helping Hand.

Because price inflation is a big issue all around the World, not only in the UK. That's why central banks (except the BoE) are raising interest rates. BoE once again ignoring it, like they did a couple of years ago as inflation was racing towards 10%.

Absolutely- it was one of the main reasons Farage and his billionaire suckers were absolutely fixed on leaving the EU.

Of course, farmers in the EU all receive this still, so our farmers cannot compete.

Food from abroad is also dearer due to the process of importing becoming more complex and expensive. Food is also not as fresh as it was, anyone notice this?

Cost of diesel.
Drought this year has hammered yields. Weather is a big factor.

The cost of living in Germany is generally lower than the UK. Wages are higher, rents are lower as is transport and utilities.
