AIBU to believe Charles Spencer after watching this BBC clip?

I expect he did say it, and probably worse about her over the years. He is far from the first cheating bastard to hate his victim.

He sounds beleivable but he is trying to sell a book. Quite frankly even if he did say it. She was his ex wife and they had a very acrimonious split. There was no love lost there,and it’s been nearly 30 years.and the moment was very emotionally charged, who the hell can remember what was said 30 years ago

should it be aired in public - no! My DGM used to say that things said and done between death and funeral should be forgiven, forgotten, or at least not mentioned.

So why bring it up now? The obvious answer is money, revenge and to control the narrative at the anniversary of Diana’s death. All are poor judgement by Charles Spencer - he is not an honourable actor in this.

This doesn’t mean HRH acted well to Diana or during this period, that is a separate thing. He doesn’t deserve to have it raked up, nor do his sons.

It’s probably true, but honestly, who cares! We say all sorts of things in anger in private. Are you telling me you’ve got to the age you are without saying anything in haste that you now regret? This isn’t a Disney movie where people are hero’s or villains. Earl Spencer did and said plenty of questionable things when it came to his sister. KC made plenty of mistakes also. People in glass houses and all that.

The main concern I have is that CS would never have felt the need to disclose this remark if it wasn't for his book. He could have talked about this years ago.

Id say Charles W had more going on and more stress than Charles S in terms of being royal being an ex being a dad to two devestated sons being bosses by dad protocol and the public and then his ex bil. ..and yes Camilla to think about .

Charles S had one or two streams to navigate Charles W had the whole ocean.
So id say it's more like Charles W is the one who can't remember and as Charles s said you don't forget only two calls to the king
