My dd (19) recently made the somewhat daft decision to buy some boots over the internet from a company called Wilson and Carter London. Within about 10 mins of placing the order she looked at online reviews (I know) which were dreadful. She emailed the company to cancel the order.
They ignored this email for 3 days, then sent an email to say the item had been dispatched. Unsurprisingly, the boots were horrific- not leather as advertised but a very smelly plastic with glue where the stitching was shown on the image. The bank were wonderful and arranged a chargeback. All good.
However, we still have the horrible boots. The company have sent a return address in China which will cost almost as much as the boots were.
My question is, do I need to return them- given the chargeback has been processed and given the false advertising of a London company which is in China?
Any advice would be welcome. I’m posting in AIBU partly for traffic but also to ask AIBU to not want my daughter to spend a penny more on anything to do with this scam.
