Apparently £63 is unreasonable to spend after a cancelled flight!

I had an easyjet flight cancelled 4 weeks ago.

I submitted for both compensation and refund of expenses. The £63 was made up of dinner the night of the cancelled flight, lunch the next day, buses to and from the airport and a taxi the night of the cancelled flight.

In my mind that’s a really reasonable spend. I’m obviously going to challenge it but AIBU here?!

Only statutory obligations if the cancelled flight was their fault. If it was down to airport issues or bad weather then, no, not their responsibility to pay. Why was the flight cancelled? That makes a difference.

They eventually caved and gave me everything (totally reasonable) that I asked for.

People on my flight travelled to the other side of the country to get an earlier flight, I don’t get how that can be reasonable!

The flight was the next night. I had to eat at the hotel, if I had been on holiday I wouldn’t have been paying for lunch!

I assume they have rejected it? It sounds like a reasonable amount so the only thing I can think of is if you have an alcoholic drink included, as I don't think they would cover that. Did you rebook onto the first available next flight?

No alcohol. Yes onto the next flight.

Dinner was £25 if I recall. Nothing extraordinary just burger and chips.

2 x bus were £9.50 each and the taxi was £7 from the bus stop to the hotel (I had three bags and it was late at night!). Lunch was £15 or thereabouts
