To wonder what is like to have a healthy mind?

One that lives in the present, is able to compartmentalise, doesn’t overthink, ruminates.

If I have a problem I got over and over it again, it is exhausting, I feel like I live frequently on my mind. Only able to full relax on holidays on when I sleep.

What treatments will help?

Im like this but have never knowingly done anything to be like it - I think its just the way I am. My DH & one DC are the opposite & we do struggle to relate to each others experiences sometimes.

I think Im naturally resilient & trust myself & my judgement so I dont overthink anything. When I do have a 'big' decision to make I am logical & research my options but once I've made my decision I dont go over it again or question myself.

Solution focused hypnotherapy helps you to create new neural pathways in your brain which encourages positive thoughts, feelings and actions.
plus you only need around 10 sessions.

I am definitely trying this. Thanks

I am tired of this overthinking and worrying

Me too. I don’t know how someone else can replicate it unfortunately!
I don’t think about the past at all and little about the future bar normal planning eg pension etc. I don’t worry about my dc , I automatically expect they will be fine.
if something is out of my control I don’t give it any headspace.
If it’s in my control, I’ll do my best to sort it then see what happens.

I totally appreciate that I’m lucky in this mindset and it’s probably the result of a very mundane ( in a good way) , problem free childhood and life.

What is your mind doing all day instead?

Mine is busy even when I am doing excercise, cooking, etc

This was quite a difficult question!
Without wanting to sound absolutely idiotic, sometimes my mind isn’t doing anything- I think about whatever I’m doing- work, driving, cooking. I only really think about now . Bar the usual mum thoughts- have I washed the school shirts, wormed the cat, bought bananas……
I also have music in my head a lot, I often sing in my head to something I like.
Currently ironing, listening to the radio, wine on the go. Nothing else in my head at all , maybe I’m a bit brainless!
