Problem with Allianz Car Insurance

Anyone else having problems with Allianz Insurance?

Car insurance taken out in July and paid on credit card - the balance of which has been paid early Sept.

Had weird email saying there was a problem with my payment being unauthorized and recalled and I had 7 days to repay, have tried a number of ways to contact them and just get loops round the AI chatbot, unanswered emails and have had 2 other people attempt to pay, and now the insurance is cancelled.

I'm now struggling with trying to take out replacement insurance having to say yes to 'cancelled insurance' question, until this is resolved

I have to wait 8 weeks before I can complain to the ombudsman

Not your kind of problem, but had issues with Allianz over putting business use on to my car insurance just last week.
Could not get a definitive answer and their chatbot was useless in not understanding the question.
Took me about 10 attempts over 3 days to get the information from [email protected]
Hope this helps.

Are you able to call up and apply for insurance whilst explaining reason for cancellation?

Thanks @MalewhoisLaffinalltheway - emails seems to be unanswered with a 'do not send emails - very large demand' message on their website, and now as they have cancelled the insurance I am no longer a customer!!

@aliceyyyy2654 yes but ticking yes to the cancelled insurance box seems to add a couple of hundred pounds!

Did you try the Digital Help email address? I didn't get a 'do not send email' message on that one, and I did eventually get my problem resolved.
They initially said it would cost me £18 to add business use to my policy for the remaining 4 months of the policy, and then said it would be £2.44!

I paid it even though I now don't need it. Thought it would be better to have it at that price just in case the need came up again and given the hassle it was to get an answer! Good luck!

Thanks for your reply- by the time the email people had come back to us (within their 3 days) the insurance was cancelled, and their replies were generally scripted and refer you back to their website. They are saying as theirs is a self service product they do not need to have a response. More worrying they are saying its a problem with the credit card people recalling the money (over 60 days after the insurance was paid for, and after the credit card had been paid).

So unfortunately, we have had to trawl round to get new insurance - and pay the penalty to declare cancelled insurance! Grrr

Have you spoken with your CC provider to see if they have recalled the monies?
