AIBU to oppose housing 1,000 undocumented young men near Piddington?

They are not refugees nor true asylum seekers, they are infact economic migrants who have travelled through multiple safe countries before arriving in the UK.
Where would I house these men why thats simple id return them to their own countries on arrival so no asylum claims, no housing or free NHS treatment just take them off the boats check their id where possible with fingerprints etc and where not genetic ancestry and strontium isotope test and then fly them back to their country of origin.
The worst thing starmer did was revoke the immigration act that prevented these men from claiming asylum.

That’s not how it works. 70% are approved because they meet the threshold for asylum.

A claim can be rejected but the person can’t be removed to their country of origin. That doesn’t mean they have refugee status, essentially they are a failed asylum seeker with no status, can’t work and in limbo.

Ok but at Piddington they’re going into a massive concentration army camp fenced off and able to house large numbers of men.

I have loads near me and it's not noticeable. But that's in the middle of a city. I guess maybe they should try and spread them out more. Or make sure they don't suddenly make up more than half the population. Especially in the middle of the countryside.

It does seem off that the new population of these folks could be double or treble that of the initial settled people. And there's nothing for large numbers of people to do round there anyway unless you drive.

But it means “undocumented” is replaced by tracking from point of entry in the Med, fingerprints, application history elsewhere.

I would happily offer up my spare room for asylum seekers but I have a dog that needs it and is jumpy around people she's not comfortable with so it's just not possible sadly.

Just because we can't personally house people doesn't mean we can't advocate for finding somehere suitable for them to stay.
