Does anyone think when this happens immediate alerts should be put on TV, and Internet etc to help and alert people

I have only seen this because I was looking at Sky news online.

Did anyone else know?

Noah is deaf, autistic and non verbal, so especially vulnerable. I hope they find him soon.

This happens way more often than we like to think.
It can't be on TV every 5 minutes
Or an alert.
It is taken seriously but (luckily) for the most part, they are quickly found.
Local alerts - absolutely yes. What am I going to do home alone with my children? Feel sad yes, act? Can't do anything.

But you could pass the child on your way home if he has been abducted. You may have seen him earlier.

The immediate alert should be within 100 mile radius.

I'm in the US and we get Amber alerts when this happens (or silver alerts if it's an elderly person). I don't understand why they WOULDN'T do this given that you have the technology to do so.

Some people aren't even interested now on here. Rather talk about Megan and Harry or their parents being almighty bores. 😢

People aren’t obliged to reply to your post. They can choose whatever thread they want. It doesn’t mean they don’t care. And they may not have even noticed yours.

I agree in America they have the amber alert we should have something like that

scrivette · 15/09/2026 21:39

I am not local but it came up in my Facebook via their local news Facebook page, I expect lots of local people found out through local news sites which was then shared over various social media platforms.

MassiveOvaryaction · 15/09/2026 21:36

It may have been sent as an alert in the local area? Though they've only tested with SMS I believe not picture messages. Hope the poor mite is found soon.

I’ve just said the same on another thread.
It would be so easy to alert all phones in the area

I’d fully back that a missing child alert within a certain mile radius of the location. Expanding as the days went on if they thought they had left the area or have evidence they had.

Yes in the area would make sense. That would be helpful.

Op seems upset people are talking about other things too. Which makes no sense.

StolenTeapots · 15/09/2026 21:04

It's awful. I really hope he's found. But realistically I can't help. I'm putting my baby to sleep about 7 hours away.

I’d much rather the emergency alert be for this than a bbq. Much like in America.

I don't understand why this isn't on more alerts or local news more quickly, there seems to be an unusual delay here compared to other countries that treat things like this as the highly time urgent local alert it should be.

Agree.
