AIBU to find Dawn French's latest Trump comments more sad than funny?

Jesus H Christ, for the last time, no, I don't find it funny to mock people who are incontinent. But I can't find the energy to defend a bully who has mocked people for all sorts of disabilities or for just being a woman.

I can't search on your name and you didn't tag me on your explanation and I don't want to read pages to find it. I hope you weren't trying to justify mocking people who lose control of their bowels or bladder. It isn't a laughing matter.

I've already explained my position more clearly further on. I'm not laughing because I don't find it funny but equally, I don't care that someone who mocked a reporter on TV for having cerebal palsy by doing a pretty nasty impression of him, is being mocked by an unfunny comedian for shitting his pants. I am not rushing to the defence of a vile and hate filled bully. He's getting back what he dishes out. Meh.

Though I went off DF after her anti-Semitic attack on Israel. Apparently a sadistic attack on babies, children, women, men including torture, rape, murder and hostage taking is a mere ' bad thing' that can be dismissed as unimportant. That wasn't funny either. Pretty disgusting that she was trying to be about October 7th. .

I have never made any secret of the fact that l have no respect whatsoever for Donald Trump and all he stands for and some jokes and memes about him can be very funny but there are limits and when people cross over the line from being funny to sheer bad taste, boundaries have to be drawn. I am a moderator for an international Facebook group with many American members. Someone made a post about Donald Trump that many members found insulting and drew it to the attention of the admins. I deleted the post, drawing attention to the fact that politics play no part in the group and that we should be kind to each other. I then made a general post to let people know about it. The (American) poster of the original post then made a comment on my post about "bringing all the MAGA types out of the woodwork." He had no idea of my own views and that l am as far from being a MAGA type as it is possible to be and that l am British in any case. I have suspended him for three days.

Yes, I think she has some serious issues. Her comments on the Hamas attacks were unforgivable. I'm sure I won't watch any of her old stuff now, but in actuality I don't watch much anyway. I do get the impression that in her videos she is either drunk or on drugs. She just doesn't present as sober and i've worked with a lot of people drunk or high on drugs.

Yes, she was mildly funny (sometimes) in the 80"s, can"t imagine why anyone would be interested now? I remember even in the 80"s they did sketches mocking famous pop stars etc. I remember watching them doing a piss take of Madonna and thinking it was just tedious, nothing worse than comedy that thinks it is smarter than it is.

If people on this thread could stop exercising their various personal enmities and get back to discussing Dawn French and her mad clip, that would be great. I'd rather they mocked him for something that didn't also imply that innocent people are worthy of mockery and disgust - they could decide him for his alleged crimes and his awful actions, or even his fashion sense, rather than medical conditions that people can't help. But fair enough.
