AIBU to think of course all the anti-trans posts on this website and others are leading to real life harm?

Just seen a video of a trans woman minding her business in a train station getting horribly bullied by some Tommy Robinson wanna-be and couldn't help but think back to all the aggressive threads I've seen on Mumsnet.

Pages and pages of vilifying innocent trans people, calling them perverts and all sorts with zero evidence of anything of the sort of course would lead to people like this harassing and attacking trans people in public. I've see a few of so-called GC brigade say 'this isn't what we wanted' but it is the end, isn't it? If you do see trans people as disgusting abusive perverts trying to sneak into your changing rooms and hurt your daughter, you'd want them to be bashed in public yeah?

Am I wrong to think their chickens are coming home to roost and certain posters will want to claim they never had a hand in it all?

No they shouldn’t. Those inciting hatred, mocking and discriminating against an entire group should be the ones hanging their heads in shame. What a way to raise children.

Respectfully, your posts are not even making much sense at this point.

Where is this hatred, mocking and discrimination?

Men should not use women only spaces. That is fact not hatred.

You have no right lecturing to parents of children you’ve never met how to parent.

Mumsnet is all about trying to help other parents. Clues in the name.

backformoreofthesame · 15/09/2026 19:01

No that wasn’t lecturing but it was offering very sound advice and anyone who doesn’t offer honest advice when a child is at risk should hang their head in shame

Vile posts the like of which you see on MN is causing the trans community to be persecuted. Maybe read and process a bit slower then you may comprehend.

Nonsense.

Overreach by activists and the fallout of the NO DEBATE tactic is causing quite a lot of people simultaneously to realise what was being campaigned for under the “trans rights” banner I.e. the erasure of sex as something that carries any meaning. To be replaced by gender identity.

If by being “persecuted” you mean “no longer allowed to access spaces set aside for the opposite sex”, then I am afraid you are being hyperbolic.

You seem to be saying women should shut up talking about what has been taken from us in the last 15 years, in the name of “trans rights” and “inclusivity.

We have the right to discuss our experiences and our needs and thoughts on loss of single sex services and spaces.

Women are not “persecuting” trans people. We are just setting out our boundaries.

Lol, like I take screen shots of posts. Who does that? Absolutely mental to expect that.

Why would you think I am holding anyone responsible for bad actor posts on MN? I’m not. But thanks for admitting that some problematic posts existed and could cause harm.

Actually, I have now started taking screenshots, because I'm sick of threads being started by people who claim the Gender Critical Feminist regular posters are nasty and aggressive then a few pages in turn nasty and agressive themselves.

How do know that I don't know people irl whose dc think they're trans?

Keep it simple, for their sakes. You can't change sex but you can dress as you wish.

85% of MNers are not buying your story, OP. How is your crusade going down on X?

I've sympathy for anyone struggling with a dc who has been brainwashed by this ideology.

Keep it simple though and stick to facts, yes you can wear whatever you like but you cannot change sex.

You may care about the trans community, I care more about the rights for women.
When I hear and see women being bullied for not genuflecting to TRA’s and their handmaids, I reserve my rights to respond in kind.

Same.

Posters on MN hiding behind their keyboards discriminating, inciting hatred and mocking the trans community are no better.

No one is inciting hate. Facts are not hate.

I'm not hiding I say the same irl. Politely. Unlike TRAs and trans allies who are sadly anything but polite.

Women aren’t men and people don’t see men as women. That isn’t changing, so I suggest you support your loved ones to deal with the reality that you can’t change sex, because no one is buying it, and it ain’t our fault that these people can’t have what they want.

@Rollingpinofdoom I'm just stating a fact. Do with it what you will. Lots have been persecuted throughout history. It's only in hindsight that we learn.

Yes. Many have been women.

No because the op has a very good point and it’s happening. Some of us care about the trans community. I won’t just deal with it but will remind discriminating bullies of the damage they cause.

MintGr33n · 15/09/2026 18:04

No it is not

It’s my opinion. It’s also my personal opinion that there is no such thing as a trans child. There is a child with mental health difficulties, and often autism, misdiagnosed as gender confusion.

As Helen Joyce says, parents who supported or facilitated the medical transition of their children will be the last ones to stop fighting for gender ideology, because admitting they were wrong would mean acknowledging they caused lasting harm to their own kids.

The fastest way to shut that pipeline off is to stop demanding that women submit to pretending we think some men are really women because of how those men claim to identify.

And yet, they never do. It's always the "obey or you will lose even more" stick and never the "let's find a solution that works for women too" carrot.

Exactly. Stop making unreasonable demands and propping up misogyny and women won’t need to object.

Hoardasurass · 15/09/2026 18:54

MintGr33n · 15/09/2026 18:14

Even Cass has identified and highlighted how trans children are being used as political weapons, that’s you lot- on MN, a parenting site supposed tos portents, all parents and it’s vile. Calling parents child abusers, trying to portray all trans people as predators. It’s vile discrimination and weaponising children. MN should be ashamed for not dealing with it robustly enough.

The only people using confused children as a political football are those who claim that trans children exist and are proof that trans identifying adults are just like them. Newsflash they are two completely different groups with different reasons for identifying as trans

backformoreofthesame · 15/09/2026 18:53

The book I recommended researched the radicalisation process of women into the far right and the trans debate is one of several pipelines by which they do it. It might be useful for everyone to read to guard against those who have been radicalised and to protect against it.

The fastest way to shut that pipeline off is to stop demanding that women submit to pretending we think some men are really women because of how those men claim to identify.

And yet, they never do. It's always the "obey or you will lose even more" stick and never the "let's find a solution that works for women too" carrot.
