Mumsnet is terrible for my mental health

I kind of know it is but can’t seem to stay away … anyone else?

Sometimes I feel like I am always either annoyed at people's responses on here (when they say something I class as ridiculous, anyway) or I'm annoyed or upset on someone's behalf because of whatever horrible situation they are going through

I can't read any threads with too much injustice in. Sometimes I start reading and think that the scenario is too much to even have in my head and click out

This morning I went to settings and hid a bunch of threads that wind me up (somehow the Royals one always came up top of feed and I am simply not as bothered as the frothing posters on there about any of them). That might help with things you find triggering and give you some control back?

I don’t think it affects my mental health but it’s probably not great to read every day about all the ways people can be shitty to each other. Or maybe it is because at least I’m armed with info on how to deal with every type of arsehole

I know how you feel. Not atm, but I have been addicted to message boards for about twenty years and sometimes I feel like I can't stop

MN can also be very entertaining and I do get lots of laughs along with the frequent dose of misery.

OP, you could also stay off AIBU and hang out in Telly addicts, What We Are Reading, The Litter Tray etc....
Not Style and Beauty though. People get surprisingly angry about whether to esar fascinators or not....
