To not really fancy a "winter of hardship to beat Putin"

I would rather he had various bits of Ukraine than I have a winter of hardship I don't really care about Ukraine (and I think at least some people in said various bits would like to join Russia anyway, who am I to stop them)

Why do we have to keep getting involved in far away stuff

According to the media Russia has been at it my whole lifetime. Nothing ever changes 🤷‍♀️

Yeah mine too. Constant threats of nuclear Armageddon. I literally don't have the energy to care anymore. I'm sure we'll survive. We're good at just getting on with it.

Madamecholetsbonnet · 13/09/2026 20:09

Are you drunk?

godmum56 · 13/09/2026 20:08

Well absolutely, it’s “a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing” right? We’ve been here before!

ME been at it my whole lifetime. Nothing ever changes..I feel sorry for the Ukrainian people and sorry for us that Putrid tries to interfere with our country.

Grapewrath · 13/09/2026 20:07

If it wasnt Putin, they’d find another way to increase prices of food and fuel. Like Covid or brexit or whatever else they point the finger at
The government don’t give a fuck about us, they just brainwash people into blaming someone else. I guarantee non of them will be facing a winter of hardship. Ffs.

We aren't reliant on Russian gas in the UK so I've no idea why it should be a "hard winter" in terms of energy supply.

Research woukd help you there

Zapx · 13/09/2026 20:06

We made a treaty we would defend them. As much as it’s easier to not get involved, we said we would, so we should.

I think its because people that are using it want to switch suppy and it will push the price up as there's more demand.

WhereYouLeftIt · 13/09/2026 20:01

CurdinHenry · 13/09/2026 19:35

I don't think he'll invade the UK so... I don't really care tbh

So you don't care that Russian subs are mapping out our undersea cables, which can only be to interfere with them at some future point?

So you don't care that Russia is involved in the people-trafficking of illegal migrants to the UK?

So you don't care that Russia is involved / facilitates the cyberattacks on UK organisations and drone incursions at airports?

Putin doesn't have to carry out a full-scale invasion of the UK to fuck us up. Being an island may offer some protection from physical invasion, but it makes our supply lines vulnerable (e.g. we don't produce enough food to feed ourselves). And given how far modern drones can now travel and how difficult they are to stop, being an island offers no protection at all.

We are already at war with Russia, just not a conventional open war. The Cold War never really stopped, and now we're in a Hybrid War, where we are attacked by non-military tactics to weaken us.

You claim to "not really fancy a "winter of hardship to beat Putin" ". How hard do you think winter will be if he launches deniable cyberattacks on power stations, hospitals, banks, air traffic control? Abandoning Ukraine wouldn't stop him doing that, you do realise that?

Wake the fuck up.

Somethinggg · 13/09/2026 20:00

We're involved whether we like it or not, and giving Putin Ukraine so he behaves himself without any further impact on you is not amongst the choices you have. It is what it is.

smallglassbottle · 13/09/2026 19:59

Where's it gone? Did the fly zapper get it?

I’m more worried about what happens in the Middle East tbh. It always has more consequences for the rest of the world.

smallglassbottle · 13/09/2026 19:50

Nah, I only care about what's happening in Europe thanks. Putin is a thorn in the side of the planet. Sooner he's gone the better.

Ooo Matron! 😂

CurdinHenry · 13/09/2026 19:52

Are you a Russian bot by any chance?

I still don't care about Ukraine xx

Now you've really lost the plot.

Is this satire? Is anyone this ridiculous really?

Do you think Putin would stop at Ukraine. He doesnt have to invade other countries to attack

People I know are going to die because of Donald trump's policies

I don't know anyone who will die because of Putin's

Plenty of businesses and people will be unable to pay, which brings poverty and strife to my door even if I can keep paying

For no reason except that it's British government policy

Putin is no more an enemy to me than Trump (and no less but we aren't sanctioning the US are we)
