Any ideas for advent calendar things that fit the brief?

Any ideas for “homemade” advent calendar thing please? DH usually buys me a beauty one but for various reasons can’t this year. Will be recovering from a op. There are restrictions on what i can have.
no face skincare
no candles
no bath stuff
no hard food
and probably other things I have forgotten!

I have thought of things like
hot choc sachets
tea/coffee
nail stuff
lip stuff
perfume samples
cant think of any nice soft food ideas?
I do love skincare and body stuff usually! Also sweet food. Might be a Jadvent.

also, sorry it can’t be expensive so budget is better! DH can do it or I can do it as I am a control freak and will forget what the items are! thank you very much to any replies.

That is a good idea @LeafMeBei struggle with taking in heard information but I’m sure they would email or text - text is shorter! My DCs are very fond of FaceTiming too as some live away so that would be nice.

I think the photo idea is lovely. Could you ask your husband to organise a voice note from a different friend or family member each day too?

Thank you for all ideas and you made me smile @NuffSaidSam I love a bit of sarcasm.

after some thought, I think I will go down the physical photos route. I really don’t know how I will be and it is doable in hospital in case im still in. It also doesn’t need your brain to work that hard and it’s the one thing I know will make me feel happy. I’ll find old ones and get some recenter (is that a word?) made and get DH to put them in an envelope in order. I’ll really have forgotten them by the time it comes around too so they will be lovely surprises!

saving all other suggestions for when I feel better though thank you all Flowers

Lottery scratch card?

If you are going to be recovering, how about he picks you a film each day to watch?

It's fine not to have an advent calendar at all, you are an adult.

Advent calendars are optional?!

Hold the front page!

Have you got any more groundbreaking insights for us @MelonSorbet ?

I am an adult, an adult having a fucking shit time so I would like a treat and I would like something to look forward to each day even if tiny to help me through this shit time

i would have thought that was obvious from my post. You really come across as being a dick and not someone taking tkme to help like the other posters

What about cosy socks and a fluffy headband or face mask?
also what about things like little packs of playing cards or puzzles or a fidget or something to do with your hands?

It is equally fine to have an advent calendar. OP is an adult.

Thank you both! Angel delight and cuticle oil especially are inspired. I should have said I’ll be in bed and off my head, well hopefully Grin after a hospital stay

I did actually just think of printing off 24 photos I like for adult children, pets etc ans looking at a new one each day. Esp summer ones and ones from years ago.

Cuticle oil, nail polish, hand/feet moisturiser, lip balm

Stop being a control freak and let him get on 🤭
I make home made advents and here are a few ideas that might suit;
New mug
Christmas themed glass
marshmallows
Socks
small bottle of wine
Large Cadburys buttons
Make up/brushes
packets of angel delight
posh bottle of squash

I hope your op goes well.
