AIBU to not ask the nail technician to redo these nails?

Attached are some photos I had of my nails done professionally yesterday.

Im not a fussy person but I think these are bad? I was pretty upset because I don't treat myself very often. I'm getting them fixed by another nail tech tomorrow (at full.price). DH thinks I should go back and complain for a redo but i don't have it in me, she was so lovely and worked really hard.

He thinks I'm a sap!

The new nails look much better, mostly because the nail shape has been filed to echo the shape of your cuticles. It really does make a difference as it makes the nail look elegant .

I’m sorry those are awful. They’ve not been filed evenly or so they’re the same llength, the French tops are all different and wonky. She’s not done enough cuticle prep either. I’d be fuming.

As you left and said nothing, I doubt there is little you can do but cor blimey, they are rough and the design is not good with such short nails. You could go back and show them, tell them you're not happy and will be going elsewhere to get them done properly but you probably won't get your money back. I'm the kind of bitch that would do it at their busiest time and loud enough for all to hear, but that's just me.
Had similar when my daughter and a friend had theirs done when they were about 14, 2 of them came home and they were bleeding down the sides of several fingers, their nails were similarly done to yours, they didn't want to complain so I marched both girls back to the salon and had a loud word. They got their money back.

The shape is different on every nail, they haven't been shaped on a professional manner

These don’t look good I’m afraid.
I see your dilemma though.
On the one hand (pun intended) nails are so expensive to get done these days (at least in my area they are) so I’d begrudge having to pay someone else to fix them.
On the other hand if that’s the nail techs work are you going to get a better job if you go back and ask for them to be redone? Probably not!
I think you should’ve said something about how unhappy you were with them at the time as it’s unlikely you’d even get a refund now as you’ve left the shop with them having not said anything.
Sorry OP - maybe just don’t go there again and use a different nail tech in future 🫶

Who are you stereotyping there? And what do you know about them to think that there is a problem with them and it’s not due to circumstances. So you are sounding as superior as the poster who thinks a nail technicians job is basic. Both of you are looking down at a group of people.

Right I’m prepared for loads of hate here: obviously they look terrible, but also (a) what’s this pathetic obsession with nails that everyone has and (b) do you think putting “technician” at the end of a very basic job description means you’re going to get a wonderful service?
Come on people. You don’t need your nails doing, it’s bullshit. If you get suckered in by shit companies etc, you’ve only got yourself to blame, like so many things it’s all a big scam. Just save your money or spend it on something worthwhile, then you won’t be disappointed. Having special designs on your nails isn’t normal or mandatory, just be a human and get on with life.

For DH to say there were bad, I thought they must be BAD. Can't bring myself to complain but lesson learnt! Definitely a proper nail tech working in a well established salon

I actually think you have a duty to report. She’ll never learn if she’s not told. They truly are awful. What was her hygiene like? Better not have anything done for a while just in case.

They look loads better OP, both shape and colour.

FWIW, I prefer a shorter set, longer nails give me the ick.
