OP why has Trump not been 'cancelled'? He is a living breathing sex offender and ruler of the free world? Perhaps worry more for the ones that still walk freely amongst us and can still cause harm rather than any perception of the dead.

I don't get it. Every time one of his songs comes on the radio it feels wrong. So wrong and so celebrated still.

Well he is dead for one thing so cancelled out of life if that is a consolation at all. He was NEVER found guilty of anything and most people still assume innocent until found guilty of something.

I remember recently watching something on the telly about his death, police body cam footage? And in his bedroom were posters of baby related items-say baby formula? So posters of babies basically, yuck
I watched the netflix documentary a while ago ,I had heard the rumours about him but that was very disturbing

Our DS’s , both in their 20’s cant stand him and our DD age 16 doesn't listen to his music so maybe he will be cancelled in a few years, fingers crossed

I don't know how anyone can hear the victims stories and think he's innocent.

People put their desire to enjoy his music ahead of a societal need to wake up to the tactics these powerful abusers use and how many people are both directly and I directly supporting them to do it.

People still listen so radio stations still play it. The Jackson family are trying to cleanse his story with the new films and a new generation are being told he was ‘misunderstood’. It is appalling paedophile apologism.

It's a mix of
(A) despite being an obvious paedo he was an iconic and brilliant entertainer. There's enough people who care more about the latter than the former.

(B) he died somewhat young and has been dead for a while so there's more of a mystique that overshadowed the nonce-ness.

I cant listen to him now but LOVED his music at the time, I used to take the MJ dance class at Pineapple studios back in the day.

He sort of bridged the era where things like that were accepted to almost the beginning of the current era where celebrities cant get away with as much.

An absolutely legendary contribution to music – Jimmy Saville never did anything that well-loved, so you can’t compare.

I believe he was guilty and still listen to his songs.

Nobody should be cancelled, it’s so puerile and performative. Plus, he wasn’t convicted of anything. We can’t go vigilante on everyone who has rumours spread about them, that way lies madness.

Maybe Beethoven was a dick. Maybe Verdi was a wife-beater. It doesn't change the fact that their contribution to music have been massive.

Michael Jackson is one of, if not THE greatest music artist of our lifetime.

He wasn't actually convicted of any wrong doing in a court of law. Though personally, I still keep coming back to 'what were the children's parents thinking!?'

He's no longer alive.

Do you think it may be because he wasn’t found guilty and there was hardly any evidence he was guilty? Also, his songs are mostly great and still sound good. The answer isn’t difficult.

I suspect he was ND and just genuinely was very child like in his attitude but extremely musically talented but was a victim of unscrupulous people (his family). I find it abhorrent that he is remembered as some sort of monster. Never convicted but always taken advantage of by money grabbing chancers 🤬
