Why hasn’t Michael Jackson been cancelled??

I’ve been out at a 80s day disco today… loads of fun. But it struck me that people were still delighted by MJ… why? He was a wrong ‘un of the very worst kind. How come he hasn’t been cancelled?!

My work colleague was thinking of taking their primary age child to see the film.

Ive never heard of a plausible excuse why it was somehow different/justifiable in having sleepovers with pre-pubescent boys.
I often hear his songs on the radio, I was a big fan back in the 80s/90s but it doesnt sit well with me know, I dont want to hear it.

The latest people who are angling for more $millions are the very family who not only defended him in court, but wrote a book about how he was wrongly accused.

i think people will do anything for millions of dollars. If all you have to do is lie. Wow easiest money ever. Funny how those with money never wavered.

Had the same conversation with my daughter and sister last week. I can’t believe his music is still played, and they think no criminal charges mean it may not be true. Obviously he was a pedophile, why anyone listens to him is beyond me.

He's the king of pop! Im so glad he is still celebrated, most people think he was innocent anyway, you can't just 'cancel' all that talent and legacy!

His victims were young boys of colour (usually) so they don't matter as much as his music. It's disgusting. He was a predatory paedophile.

Perhaps as he was found not guilty, there’s not a shred of evidence and all of his alleged victims have proven to be liars and/or extortionists (their families at least - not blaming the children)?

If all you know about Michael is from the daily mail and biased documentaries then please do a little more research into the actual facts before you try and cancel him.

People are delulu, that’s why. I’m usually all for separating the art from the artist, but I draw the line at paedophiles. Yes he was a pop genius, but these days his music makes me feel sick. I’m constantly amazed by people playing his music at kids’ parties.

He was never found guilty of anything, so I guess it’s down to individual opinion as to whether someone wants to refuse to listen to, or dance to, his music. I thought he had strange quirks, but I believe he was innocent, and that the people accusing him of stuff were trying to exploit him for money. But others will have a completely different view.

I know somebody that worked with Savile and he is absolutely convinced that he was a wonderful man so I really don’t know what to say about that.

It’s fascinating reading different opinions on here. I’ve watched a lot about him over the years and I do think he was predatory. For that reason I don’t listen to his music and I do judge people who do.

I suspect he was ND and just genuinely was very child like in his attitude but extremely musically talented but was a victim of unscrupulous people (his family). I find it abhorrent that he is remembered as some sort of monster. Never convicted but always taken advantage of by money grabbing chancers 🤬

OP why has Trump not been 'cancelled'? He is a living breathing sex offender and ruler of the free world? Perhaps worry more for the ones that still walk freely amongst us and can still cause harm rather than any perception of the dead.

I love a bit of Jacko. Billie Jean came on the radio last week at work and nobody had a meltdown, it’s just MN that has a problem with him
