Why hasn’t Michael Jackson been cancelled??

MJ was a genius and one of the most culturally important artists of the 20th century.
He was investigated by the FBI for a decade, no convictions ever.
His money was a big draw for those making up stories about him.

So does this mean some classical music should be banned take every piece of art work out of galleries if there is a hint of pearl clutching, what about the back ground of heads of mega companies do people boycott all these what about all the crap people buy made by slave labour Shein, temu, primark, so do you personally cancel everything in your life by the same standards

And no i am neutral on someone going by the rumours spread about a dead person, cant even say i was a fan on him either way when he was alive either particularly but this cancel culture is getting ridiculous

There's a lot of thick people around who think you can say someone is cancelled. You can't "cancel" anyone, they lived, they existed - end of. Utter nonsense.

I think he's the level of famous that it just doesn't do anything to "cancel" him. I wasn't planning on watching 'Jim'll Fix It', but I do hear 'Thriller' at every Halloween event I've ever attended and Billie Jean once a week.

I am horrified that people think "he wasn't technically found guilty of anything in court" makes it fine that an adult man shared a bed with children down a corridor fitted with alarms that would let him know if someone was approaching, and kept naked photos of children...

He was found not guilty, so many people accepted that- they were quick to do so because they didn't want to believe it

I feel no celebrity should ever have enough power or be idolised so much they can take strangers children into their homes- it's creepy. I remember sia had a kid off dance moms move in, it made me think of mj, and question why any parent in their right mind would let their child live with a random adult famous or not. Hollywood will never change I avoid music or movies with dark energy or history where I can

His music is wonderful, he's dead, he was found not guilty so why are you worrying about it?

Perhaps based on the long standing legal principle of Innocent until proven guilty.

I imagine making an absolute issue of it would provoke legal action from his estate.

From what I understand, some of his siblings are waiting until after she's gone to tell the bigger story.

They’re also disgusting and should be cancelled but they weren’t prolific child abusers (as far as we know). MJ groomed and abused several boys. Celebrities never even bothered to deny having sex with children if they were teenaged girls because no one would have cared and most still don’t. The girls didn’t consider themselves victims which is sad.

There was definitely evidence and it’s just bloody obvious. People think these weirdos are innocent because they’re weird in plain sight and surely no paedophile would actually do that. But they do. He admitted trying to manipulate children to sleep in bed with him… on tv. He was always around children as a grown adult. They were in his bedroom!!! Never had a real relationship. Some of the victims have spoken out and if you listen to them, you can’t not believe them. He was awful.

I think MJ almost had been cancelled, until the recent film. I don’t remember hearing his music for ages, and I was really surprised when I heard a film had been made. But since then, a new generation have seen a more sympathetic portrayal of him, and discovered his music, and now he’s more popular again.

I’ve got the Thriller album, and I remember his music as being amazing, but even before all the accusations he was clearly very disturbed, which always cast a shadow over his achievements.

People refuse to believe that this insane looking man could do any wrong just because he was very talented and had an awful childhood. It’s really weird. The same idiots seem to think those white children are biologically his as well.

People suddenly have faith in the criminal justice system when it comes to celebrities. Victims are rarely believed.
There is a lot of misinformation out there, like the fbi investigating him for years and never finding anything - this isn’t true.
He was certainly a wrong un.

I sometimes wonder whether Gary Glitter’s crimes would have been overlooked if his back catalogue had been as lucrative as Michael Jackson’s. After all, we ignore Mike Tyson’s conviction for rape, Mark Wahlberg’s conviction for his attack on two Vietnamese men and Jay-Z’s conviction for stabbing someone etc.

He had young boys at sleepovers in his home with his backyard Disneyland in a time before that shit could be tracked on social media, so today’s fans only see the footage of his stage highlights, not children being ferried to and from his home, trailers, and on tour with him. They can make money from this sanitized legacy so they do. They can’t make money trying to sell jimmy Saville, so he remains “cancelled”.

As with so many (men) accused I won't separate the art from the artist, why should I?

I think he was just childish and enjoyed the company of young people like Macaulay Culkin. While inadvisable and inappropriate, I’m not sure he abused them at all

Which documentary are people talking about? The recent film or an older one? I remember watching one a while back which had the brothers? Who accused him on. And they were saying what he did etc. all very convincing.
But then you see or read something else…

I often seen adverts for day discos and MJ is usually one of the key artists mentioned. Lots of teens seem to be enjoying the music now due to the film.
