AIBU to question why crypto investors are heavily funding Reform?

To wonder why cryptocurrency investors are donating so much money to Reform. This follows the announcement of a £36m donation from another cryptocurrency billionaire (a record donation for a UK political party). It means that by far the majority of their funding comes from crypto investors.

donations of this scale have never been received by other parties. We’ve never seen anything like it in the uk. It’s not even comparable!

It isn't a conspiracy theory when you can actually buy an offshore account and not pay tax if you have enough money. It is reality.

I would like to be able to put these donations to Reform in their proper context.

Not the level of detail you were asking for but if you want to put the Reform donations in context you will see how far they dwarf anything received by other political parties.

It has come from our water, land, air and often trickery.
No one has come by that amount by being a good human being.
No one keeps that amount if they aren't greedy.

I remember someone telling me that when I was first starting my career in the City and I thought it was nonsense. 20 years later and I realised they were completely right.

They aren't going to pay tax if they can hide it, they have repeatedly shown that. The more billionaires we have the less tax we actually get, because it comes from people on the HMRC payroll, who are paying tax when they earn it.

They should pay and reasonable and not punitive rate of tax so we show we want them to stay here and its a good place to live and do business. And then we butt out and let them live their lives. That benefits the UK in the tax take which is what affects all of us.

Now some richer people (we don't have many billionaires left) think the Uk is not a good place for then to live because certain types of people think rich people must be greedy and want to take more money from them that they have earned and so are leaving to go to countries where they are welcome.

This means less rich people will have to fund more and more of the vast and growing social security bill. Which is depressing as its just leading to a weak and unmotivated population sitting around when work would be a better life for them.

I don't discount anyone of any faith as not being greedy if they have a billion whatever currency they use.
I am just calling it what it is, wealth hoarding because of greed.

You've decided Ive made "a cynical and sneering joke". Are you unable to debate an issue without smearing someone personally? This rather sums up my problem with the left. They ignore the merits of an argument and go for the person.

I"m fine if you reply to me or not. I can discuss anything with anyone. I'd prefer not to have to walk on eggshells due to an oversensitivity though so perhaps it's better if you stand down.
