To have something sweet/ pudding every day after dinner?
kind of thought the majority did this but after talking to friends maybe not. So for example after dinner every night will have something sweet eg bar of chocolate, biscuits

No, never - but each to their own.

strugglinguphill · 10/09/2026 19:52

Never.

PrettyLittleRose · 10/09/2026 19:50

@NeverDropYourMooncup I'm the opposite, I would rather have less main and a nice dessert! I mean an actual sweet pudding, not an apple or 5 grapes like some on here. 😆

NeverDropYourMooncup · 10/09/2026 19:45

I'd rather have more dinner chips.

DP likes sweet stuff and has taken to presenting a bowl of fruit and yoghurt most evenings, but I'm not fussed and he's exercising a displacement activity for opening a packet of Haribo in any case.

I think that whilst for some, it's always been normal in their families, for others it's due to children starting school and learning to expect a pudding all the time because it's what they have there.

Overthemoun · 10/09/2026 19:45

I think this is like washing bedsheets and how much people have in savings, mn is weird.

we usually have something - chocolate and/or wine. Probably shouldn’t but…

NotAtMyAge · 10/09/2026 19:45

We usually have some fresh fruit or natural yoghurt. In hot weather ice-cream goes down well.

emptythebin · 10/09/2026 19:45

MNs is not the audience for this!

Ralstan · 10/09/2026 19:44

No unless eating out.

Unexpectedlhereagain · 10/09/2026 19:43

I very rarely have any dessert of any sort.

PistachioTiramisu · 10/09/2026 19:42

We have pudding every day but don't each much during the day - so a strawberry tart, a vanilla slice, trifle, rice pudding, apple crumble, etc. I hate chocolate.

mondaytosunday · 10/09/2026 19:40

A coffee with sweetener or sugar is enough. I’m dieting so currently it’s a Dr Pepper Zero

Toomanyclothesinthecloset · 10/09/2026 19:39

No I don't...my kids will ofter have a chocolate bar later though.

ImmortalNowBabyDoll · 10/09/2026 19:38

I'll have something - a portion of fruit or a yoghurt usually. Doughnuts tonight because YOLO.

IwanttoWFH · 10/09/2026 19:37

I always do. About an hour after dinner. Everything in moderation

MyEasterBonnet · 10/09/2026 19:37

Every day for me, lunch and dinner! Lunch may be fruit or a yoghurt, but then something like chocolate, cake or biscuits after dinner.

Chipsahoy · 10/09/2026 19:37

I’ve swapped to dark chocolate. I don’t eat much of it but it gives me that sweet hit and treat that I look forward to

rollerblind · 10/09/2026 19:36

I love something sweet after dinner. Usually something super dull like a muller light yoghurt but always like something

I'm a slim with a sweet tooth. I sometimes think it's the crisp fans that put the weight on more.

And fruit isn't pudding. It's what you have if there's absolutely burning sweet left in the house.

I agree. Fruit is not pudding. An ice cream, a few biscuits, a few chocolates (or a chocolate bar like a penguin or club bar,) or a slice of cake is pudding. Fruit is not. Unless you're on you're on a diet. I do like strawberries with ice cream though.

Only when I visit my parents for dinner, or when I cook for them. Never alone or with friends.

TheWytch · 10/09/2026 19:33

No never unless we have friends around. Even then it's more likely to be cheese.

It's interesting how many people are saying they do and are not overweight. I come from a really slim family where pudding after dinner every day was standard, as well as sliced bread to start. Whereas I am the size of a small hippo as someone put it and I never have pudding, I'd be so embarrassed to order a pudding in a restaurant as a very large person I never have pudding or chocolate or biscuits, yet I remain huge. Perhaps there is something in it. Maybe the pudding eaters have smaller main portions to leave room for a pudding that is not a high calorie as it seems, whereas savoury things are not necessarily lower calorie and I know my main portions are too big. Perhaps I should half my main and start adding in a small pud instead?

Please don't be embarrassed, anyone who judges someone for having a pudding in a restaurant is not worth the air they breathe.

We rarely have anything after dinner , on occasion maybe we will have a small dessert / ice cream but that’s rare
We have just finished eating dinner now so I am not hungry and won’t be hungry till tomorrow morning.
