To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

1000 replies

FuadaFan · 09/09/2026 14:17

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

How many soldiers do you think would be willing to violently evict families of thier own nationality and ethnicity?

I'm old enough to remember the horrendous scenes from the Gaza withdrawal in 2007, including Soldier's in tears after being made to manhandle an elderly Rabbi clutching Torah scrolls from a synagogue that he'd been evicted from.

Ok. I see you don't know what's happening in Qusra. Violent settlers have gone in and taken over Palestinian homes on Palestinian land. It has gotten so bad that even Huckabee has had to condemn it and has warned Israel to put an end to it, but to no avail.

Medievalgirl2 · 18/09/2026 12:28

BerthaPotts · 18/09/2026 12:17

The reality is, that this isn't due to inability, rather unwillingness.

Is this the "October 7th was a false flag" conspiracy? Really? We're getting that on here now to are we?

Maybe read what I wrote again, before flinging insulting and false accusations at posters.

Its entirely possible to fact check the general details of what a person says if they give say.. dates and places. Its not possible to check the crededentials and background of anonymous sources. Maybe that's what was meant?

What are you talking about? I'm talking about the village of Qusra which is under siege currently.

Yet Qusra is still under siege by radical violent Israel settlers. The IDF with the best resources in the world who can gain knowledge on which Iranian leaders are travelling where and at what time, are somehow unable to prevent this atrocity in their own backyard.

I meant trade restrictions and sanctions. Every lever should be pulled to stop the Israeli government from stealing land and killing civilians across multiple countries.

Palestinian's have no rights in the West Bank. Their houses are taken and demolished, businesses just shut down, families are killed and children assaulted. The West Bank is apartheid. Look at laws now making it legal to execute Palestinians for crimes but not Israeli's. Both Palestinians and Israelis should have safe homes - the two state solution is the only solution. The settler violence against Palestinians is unbelievable and shockingly criminal.

Have you seen the settler violence? The settlers are actively stealing land, kicking out Palestinians and killing families. The idea that the IDF are just keeping the peace and stopping Palestians from harming innocent settlers is awful. The reports about the treatment of the Palestinian people have been appalling.

I imagine that most Palestinian people want the same from the settlers and the IDF. Hamas and the Israeli government are both terrorist organisations who are killing civilians. We have every sanction against Hamas as we should. Yet many Governments are supplying weapons to Israel and providing them with help and endorsement. That must stop immediately.

@NullaEffugium I agree with you but I wonder if Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor had made a documentary about the Bibas family or the women who had unspeakable things done to them in Hamas captivity only to be gaslit and dismissed by the UN, would they still have gotten an award and a standing ovation?

Do you realise that Jews setting foot on the Temple Mount is considered a form of "settler violence"? Let me put that into perspective with a hypothetical: imagine Catholics took over Mecca, built a Cathedral on top of the Kaa'ba and then banned any Muslims from worshipping there. That's basically what happened to Jews. We are essentially enforcing Blasphemy Laws.

Did you know multiple "settlers" have been murdered by Palestinians this year? The people being executed are convicted terrorists and murderers: weirdly enough Israelis aren't commiting such crimes against thier own people.

Its not as simple as you think. The violence is reciprocal.

The West Bank is technically controlled by the PA. Western governments give hundreds of millions to the PA and Gaza each year. What do you suppose they do with that money?

Every Israeli has NOT been a member of the IDF. Arabs and religious Israelis are exempt for a start.

Surely you should know this being Israeli yourself?

Those for whom service is mandatory can also refuse to serve - just like the producers of the Guardian (a British leftist newspaper- why would they fund this?) funded propaganda documentary film Nazar - Abraham is documented as refusing to serve and leaving within a week.

There is nothing I can see about Szor but it's most likely she did the same as I'm sure her having been a former serving soldier would have been highly publicised with the film.

Please look up who funds Breaking the Silence and ask yourself why? These are all also anonymous soldiers are they not?

This is their mission -

  • At Breaking the Silence we aim to expose the public to the daily reality of the occupation and Israeli military rule over the Palestinian civilian population in the territories, a reality we witnessed firsthand during our military service. By publishing soldiers’ testimonies on their service in the occupied territories, we aim to generate opposition to the occupation through meaningful public debate on the significant moral price paid by Israeli society for entrenching the ongoing regime of occupation.

No bias there?

I wonder if the PTSD ridden soldiers have really thought through the reality what a Palestinian State means for the security of Israel and the safety of Israelis especially since Oct 7th?

How do you "restrict" a government? "Restrictions" always impact the ordinary people, not the government.

Palestinian tourists aren't banned from certain countries. Nobody goes on "Palestinian hunts", Palestinians aren't assaulted for speaking Arabic abroad or wearing a Kaffiyeh. Yet all the above happens to Israelis - and not government officials to spare me the whole "its only the government I have a problem with".

And nobody actually thinks any of that about Palestinians: we mostly just want Palestinians to stop murdering people and weaponising their own kids.

I meant trade restrictions and sanctions. Every lever should be pulled to stop the Israeli government from stealing land and killing civilians across multiple countries.

I would recommend you look at this again: Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) are a global advocacy organisation who compile detailed, well researched reports.

To say they are "not credible" because you for example don't agree with their definition of antisemitism would be a choice, but dismissing them out of hand is something else entirely.

https://combatantisemitism.org/cam-news/new-x-feature-exposes-foreign-run-gaza-accounts-fueling-anti-israel-and-antisemitic-narratives/

The X feature is fooled by VPNs. X has introduced a ‘location may not be accurate’ if it can sense a VPN is being used. Journalists often use VPNs in volatile environments. Every year, the Committee for Protection of Journalists (CPJ) donates thousands of free VPNs to journalists all over the world in high risk areas.

What do you think the impact of NAZA is going to be? Are you assuming Abraham and Szor aren't going to make money from it? You don't submit movies you made for free and don't hope to profit off at the Venice Film Festival.

From my first post, I have said I refuse to support any film or series that profits off the blood and misery of real people dying in this war whether that is Oct 7th or Hind Rajab because it is too soon and many families still don’t have a body to bury of their loved ones. It’s not right to profiteer on it.

One day in the future a historical documentary would be acceptable to me. But this rush to show Jewish people being tortured, raped and murdered on Oct 7th or Palestinians dying as their homes become a battleground as entertainment is just sickening to me.

ThatZionistsJew · 17/09/2026 19:02

NullaEffugium · 17/09/2026 18:45

Who are you to assume who I align with? I am pro-people living unharmed. I am pro-peace. I’m pro not making money off Oct 7th/Gaza war by presenting atrocities in a series for entertainment or to stir up more hatred to cause more violence and death in an ongoing war.

You have not been friendly or protective as I have been repeatedly subjected to overt antisemitism from you on this thread. You brought it up by calling me an antiZionist Jew token. Your motivation certainly wasn’t to teach me or anyone my own history despite your later posts to try and mask the insult as it’s not even remotely relevant to Fauda season 5.

If its down why are there so many Gazan Instagram and Telegram accounts up and running? Both usually require Internet Access.

eSIMs and VPNs circumvent internet blackouts.

ThatZionistsJew · 17/09/2026 18:56

NullaEffugium · 17/09/2026 18:49

I did not see that link. But I will speak on the Gaza journalist based in Holland issue as it has been investigated. The Gaza access to the internet is down for obvious reasons due to the war.

Journalists in Gaza are using eSIMs and VPNs. The fact an account location tag shows the VPN address outside Gaza doesn’t mean the actual journalist isn’t in Gaza. It is well known phenomenon.

How do you hold in your mind these two opposing things you have said?

Every Israeli over age 18 has been a member of the IDF

All Israelis over age 18 whistleblowing about abuses they witnessed within the IDF were never a member of the IDF

Anonymity is fairly common for whistleblowers for their protection it is exceedingly odd that you think this means they are not authentic.

There is an organisation of IDF veterans called Breaking the Silence. Criticism of the IDF is not a new phenomenon in Israel, it long predates the Gaza war. It is a sign of a strong democracy to have such organisations and a whistleblowing process.

Every Israeli has NOT been a member of the IDF. Arabs and religious Israelis are exempt for a start.
