To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

Imagine actually believing a Jew hating terrorist group when they tell you “Jews are the baddies, look they’re killing us all” - especially when they’re fresh of a genocide of Jews, and not the first time they’ve mass murderer and raped Jews either

cries of “think of the children”

You’re really telling on yourself there. Such as awful and minimising way to talk about so many dead children.

You are aware I’m sure that many babies have been killed. Were they terrorists too? <awaits reason why mentioning babies killed by the IDF is a fallacy>

Are you denying that tens of thousands (ie 20,000 or more) innocent Palestinians have been killed?

Perhaps you don’t believe that any Palestinians are innocent civilians?

@FeeFiFoFiddlyFum I don't know if you're aware of this but "children" doesn't just mean "babies". It includes anyone under 18. Including 16-year-old Hamas operatives like this one....

And this isn't from the IDF. His "martyr video" was published by Hamas: something they only do for operatives who died in combat.

But you've already admitted you support Gazans being ruled by a vicious band of thugs who groom and weaponise their children.

No. It’s a war crimes problem.

What about the war crimes of Hamas, or the Chinese or Armenians? How come we ever see marches for those?

FreshJalapenos · 16/09/2026 12:39

EnglishLady02 · 16/09/2026 09:41

Its not about "respect". Its about spreading rumours and lies which have been proven to cause harm to real people. The inciting incident of October 7th was a rumour the Jews were planning to flood Al- Asqa Mosque.

The inciting incident of the 1929 Hebron Massacre was a similar rumour.

Blood libels kill people. This is a fact, and it takes precedence over your opinions or feelings.

It also takes precedent over people pretending they love everyone on the world.

I don’t. Nobody does.

FeeFiFoFiddlyFum · 16/09/2026 09:23

You think the difference between “race and ethnicity” and “culture” is semantics? Blimey

I didn’t want to get into this discussion because I don’t usually debate race with people who don’t respect all races (what’s the word for such people, it’s on the tip of my tongue) but since you push it -

If you’re from a race or ethnic court that hates women no I don’t respect your race or ethnicity

Which races and ethnicities do you believe hate women and don’t you respect? Please tell me which races and ethnicities are not worthy of respect?

Can you explain how you don’t respect these races or ethnicities because they “hate women” but you simultaneously don’t respect the women of these races and ethnicities because of their race or ethnicity?

I don’t respect Afghanistan or Iran. I don’t repacked Islamic countries and cultures that oppress women. Shall I go on?

Pretty gross if you ask me

Think people can have strong views and empthy for Gaza etc without losing their morals in this way. It doesn't really help anyone they claim to want to help. Just used to twist the knife in others pain also to try and neutralise any empthy towards Israelis or Jews.

In my country (the UK) a politician was legitimately more critical of police officers response to an antisemitic terrorist attack then the attack itself. And then had the audacity to cry "antisemitism" when he was lampooned by the media for his views.

Did you deduct the more than 10,000 natural deaths from that figure which Hamas also admitted they included? As well as the people counted twice and the instances of adults being recorded as children?

Also you really need to take account of Hamas propensity for recruiting teenagers in your cries of "think of the children!".

I've legitimately seen people calling October 7th a "military operation" and the hostages as "prisoners of war" in order to legitimise Hamas actions and downplay their targeting of civilians.

If it was a "war crimes" problem there would be far more condemnation of Hamas and the IRGC as well as Saudi Arabia's actions in Yemen.

I think every pro-Palestinian I’ve known at some point peddles antisemitic tropes, even if they don’t realise it. The whole Doe-eyed “Oh I’m only criticising the Israeli government” I’m afraid stopped washing with me a LONG time ago. The silence on the IRGC and many, many countries doing much much worse to much much larger non-terrorist populations makes me think it’s not an Israel problem they have, it’s a Jew problem.

No. It’s a war crimes problem.

I think you don't understand what I have said.

Not claiming any words, well apart from antisemitism because that was an actual word uninvented just to describe Jew hate.

What I am saying is words commonly used to describe various Jewish pains or prejudice against Jews are frequently used to counter any empthy towards Jews

This is a very deliberate tactic eg using the word hostage to describe Hamas and Gazen prisoners after the 7th October hostage taking or using the word Holocaust to describe deaths in Gaza. There are plenty of other words people could use but they don't. They use the same words in a deliberate tactic to try and top trumps the pain happening. To also neutralise any possible empthy towards Jewish people. Very deliberate and very obvious to most people considering the tactic is used quite often.

Sorry but you can’t steal the term “blood libel” away from us because it’s never been our property.

Blood libel is a generic term where one group accuses another group of ritual murder where the blood is then used for ritualistic purposes.

In the medieval period, blood libels were often used against Jewish communities alleging we stole Christian babies, murdered them and used their blood in rituals. A common one was adding the blood of babies to the matza meal for Passover.

I know AI summaries from searches will tell you blood libel originated in 1144AD and has always been antisemitic, but that is not correct.

Blood libel was used between Ancient Greek city states (Spartans exposing infants was one)
Blood libel was used by the Romans against early Christians.
Blood libel has been used between different Christian sects (catholic vs orthodox vs syriac)
Blood libel was used against women in the medieval witch hunts
Blood libel was used against 19th c Christian missionaries in Asia (Tianjin massacre)
Blood libel was used against pagans in the 1980s (see Satan panics)

So yes, we have been particularly targeted by blood libels for millennia, but we don’t own the word blood libel nor are we the sole & unique victims of it.

Blood libel can be used by one group against any other group at any time in history ancient, medieval or modern.

False rumours and accusations of violence aren’t all blood libel though.

I think it’s important to understand that blood libel specifically relates to false accusations of ritualistic murder. The false accusation that Hamas beheaded 40 babies could be blood libel if the false rumour was linked to Islamic religious practices or beliefs. The reason it’s not blood libel isn’t because it wasn’t antisemitic, but because there was no allegation of it being done as ritualistic murders.

Yes, all false allegations of violence do stir up hatred and can cause harm to the accused group. They don’t have to be blood libel to do that.

I think you don't understand what I have said.

Hamas own figures reveal more than 1/3 of the people killed in Gaza were their own fighters. So saying "tens of thousands of innocent people" is misinformation in itself.

2/3 of 70,000 is approx 46,500, many of whom were women and children.

Your point is untrue.

It is more correct to say the the blood libel against Jews are the most long-standing and often repeated ones/that they are more frequently the subject of them than any other group. The claim about killing children and drinking their blood has been repeated constantly since 1144. Most recently in the 1940s by the leader of the Arab League.

Yes that is also correct.

And if you actually take the trouble to examine the "settler violence" claims it includes thinks like Jews walking on the Temple Mount. This directly feeds into blood libels about the very presence of "non-believers" there being an act of aggression.

As @inamarina says, none of the above were a direct result of the beheaded baby story. They resulted from very real, documented, atrocities by Hamas.

Trying to co-opt blood libels and the resultant violence against Jews to cast Hamas as the "real" victim is horrendous, actually.

Not sure how to make it even clearer.
To say “I don’t respect all ethnicities” is not the same as to falsely claim that a certain ethnicity does that horrendous thing X/Y/Z.
Personally, I’d say the latter is worse, as it’s more likely to incite violence towards the ethnic group in question.

It’s a bit of a ridiculous debate we’ve got ourselves into here really (this specific “which is worse” question). Both are wrong and hating ethnicities is likely to lead to spreading falsehoods about that ethnicity so they are nit mutually exclusive.

If you’re talking about hating ethnicities it’s best to keep to specifying ethnicities and not confuse the issue by saying people.

It is perfectly fine to hate people, individual people, or groups of people ((Hamas, the Israeli government).

It is not perfectly find to hate ethnicities and I find it bizarre that you believe hating ethnicities isn’t likely to lead to violence towards them.

Do you think it is okay to hate certain races and ethnicities?

Do you think it is okay to say that you hate certain races and ethnicities?

Do you think that people who say they hate some races and ethnicities should be listened to about antisemitism?

As I told the other person, has any of this "misinformation" directly resulted in violence against Palestinians? How many terrorist attacks have there been targeting Palestinians? How often are Palestinians beaten up in the streets?

So you’re going to ignore the tens of thousands of deaths of innocent people, including children, at the hands of the IDF, the treatment of Palestinian prisoners and the beatings and murders by terrorist settlers for the purposes of this particular point? None of this could be in any way influenced or worsened by false claims against Palestinians? Of course not.

Amazing how everything that they feel could possibly give any empthy to Jews gets stolen from them. The history of racism and prosecution towards the often most vulnerable minority group means certain words were used to describe their suffering. However the haters will continue to try and steal even those away. A word full of words and phrases that someone could use but no they always have to claim anything showing Jewish pain can, just to numb people to what it is they are really doing or promoting themselves.

I am under the impression that the aunt of those 12 yr old twins is or was, a poster on mn.
To paraphrase Israelefty in her AMA, it's hard to be dispassionate when you are in it.

If you are not 'in it', it's probably better not to contribute to inflaming it, or bringing it to your doorstep. That helps nobody.

The glee & excitement I saw performed on the streets of the UK after 7/10 disgusts me.

I saw Fauda recommended a couple of years ago, I may watch it but I have no wish to see a recreation of 7/10. Not good for anyones mental health.
