AIBU to think many people of the UK lack confidence in the current government?

AIBU to think that the majority of people in the UK don't have any confidence in the current government, with an unelected Prime Minister at its' helm?

Would people be willing to vote on a petition to have a parliamentary debate on this matter, to encourage this government to have a snap General Election? This would give the people - the tax payers - as say in who is running the country. Democracy in action, if you will.

AIBU - people are happy with Labour and the unelected PM

YANBU - people have a democratic right to vote for who they want to run the country and right now, the majority don't have confidence in the current government.

I explained that the main driver for Labour replacing him was his unpopularity with the electorate. Whether 'Labour' agreed with the public view or not I couldn't say, because there isn't a hive mind. Some will have disliked him and thought he should go. Others will have been ambivalent or liked him and still thought he should go, for the reasons I've explained.

I had absolutely zero confidence in Boris Johnson's government, but I had to put up with them.

Anything is better than Reform. Fingers crossed Farage will have run away to some far off tax haven before they get a chance at power.

You'd have to ask the people who personally disliked him and thought he was doing a bad job that. As luck would have it, there's at least two on your thread right now.
I explained that the main driver for Labour replacing him was his unpopularity with the electorate. Im not a Labour supporter in general - im very centric and believe we need both socialism and capitalism.

I preferred Starmer as he was more centric.

We are now seeing the fruits of his 2 year governance - boat crossings down and economy starting to pick up.

Im willing to give Burnham a chance. Just a I have Tory’s a chance back when I voted for them - and they failed.

However the fact that so many people did was a problem. It doesn't take a genius to work out that a party has less chance of staying in government with an unpopular leader.
And then, as if by magic, we have the politician with the highest popularity rating in the UK standing in front of us offering himself for the role. Its obvious, surely?

No. Many people (usually ones who don't work) have more money with Labour. Tax payers have a lot less. Labour are the party of non working people - and the party who suppress sex crime statistics on asylum seekers and immigrants.
