To ask if my boyfriend doing this last night is ‘normal’?

Helenaslide · 08/09/2026 15:45

I was having a bath last night and he came in and used the loo (no.2). I shouted and asked what he was playing at and he said he has always done this with partners and vice versa as have plenty of people he knows. He stayed for a couple of minutes until he had finished and left laughing.

For context - together 4 months, he was staying at mine last night.

He has said he won’t do it again but I feel a bit humiliated by it tbh.

Well despite what everyone else says, been with my partner 1 year and their is absolutely nothing hidden in our relationship. We have no issues in using the toilet infrojt of each other. Most days he sits in the bathroom with ke and chats about his day even if I'm doing a poo.if it's weird, that's up to you to javr thwt boundary in place. For me, I'm happy with how he and I are.

How on earth do you manage to still fancy each other?

It it is not "admirable" when the OP asked him to leave and he refused!

He literally shat all over her boundaries. This is dominance assertion not openness.

Alan42 is may be the culprit!

AgentKim · 13/09/2026 06:56

In our house poo's are private.
I can understand if he brought you the wine and just sat on the toilet ( with the lid down ), and had a little chat then left you to your bath, but to poo! I would have told him to eff right off and to get out of my house. Dirty bastard.

Alan42 · 13/09/2026 02:47

He trusts you enough to observe all personal aspects of his life - such open-ness is admirable.

Fine and dandy if that's your thing but the OP asked him to leave and he didn't, plus she has another 2 loos for him to use instead.

Ohdearnotthisagain · 13/09/2026 05:07

Two other toilets to choose from and he tricks you into not locking with the “I’ll bring you a glass of wine”.

Vile. Absolutely vile.

Bouncywaves · 13/09/2026 04:23

You are a woman who has achieved three loos in your house. You can do better than this man. Just imagine how unspeakable his family must be to raise somebody to believe this is acceptable behaviour. I stopped wearing old clothes round the house because I concluded I wanted my husband to see the best of me and that didn't include baggy jeans and sweatshirts and messy hair with no makeup. I think you have to put a bit of effort into keeping the "romance" alive. We have a closed bathroom door policy.

Oh, do behave yourself. 🙄

NewGirlInTown · 13/09/2026 03:30

Get rid of him. So disgusting. What a repellent creature. Was he dragged up?

No. That’s disgusting.

Actually, that was a very rude, intrusive and disrespectful thing to do to you during a private moment. You need to lay down some ground rules for the relationship, like respecting boundaries. And if you are foolish enough to invite him to stay at your home again, I suggest that you install an internal lock on your bathroom door first.

This is a problem beyond any 'ground rules'. I really hope she has enough sense to completely cut things off with him and block him. Sadly, many women do not, and they pay a terrible price down the road.

@Helenaslide

Now you've had time to read the responses, and many many people have said this is a red flag, what are you going to do? Move on, find someone less shitty? Or stay with the stinky bastard?

Greenrun · 12/09/2026 22:33

If this is what he does 4 months into the relationship, this is what you can expect in the future: at 6 months he will poo in the bathtub when you're having a bath together. After marriage and kids, he will poo into your dinner plate, force you to eat it, force the kids to watch it and laugh whilst you're doing it. Please dump him and save yourself. If you don't dump him, you're headed towards an abusive relationship that WILL ruin your life.

When he offered the wine, he already knew he was going to take a dump. This is malicious manipulation and this person finds delight in humiliating and disrespecting you. When he sat down on the toilet why didn't you tell him to go and take his pick from the other two free and empty toilets? When he said this was normal in his previous relationships did you ask him whether there were other free toilets available then too?

OooPourUsACupLove · 12/09/2026 22:23

PrettyLittleRose · 08/09/2026 16:28

What point do you think he was making?

That he doesn't respect her enough not to shit in front of her but he thinks she is desperate to keep him enough to smile and accept it, obviously.

Basic animal dominance stuff from a man who will undoubtably turn out to be at least low level emotionally abusive and probably worse.

Fortheloveoffrogs · 12/09/2026 22:16

Wow. Over 3000 votes. 97% shouting ‘RUN!!!’

Hope you’ve got your trainers on and are still running as far as you can get away from him.

TaterTots68 · 10/09/2026 08:46

I wouldn't have a problem with DH doing this (although we don't actually have a bath!), but we've been together a long time and he'd ask first and it would only be because he was desperate and we've only got one loo. Same the other way around. But...a fairly new relationship and he hadn't asked if it's ok with you is grim and would put me right off

@TaterTots68

would it not give you the ick and stop you wanting to shag him though?

notyetbranded · 12/09/2026 21:50

That’s gross! My partner will sometimes come in and have a quick wee when I’m in the bath, which I don’t mind but a number 2?? Just no!! It would ruin your chilled vibes and also the smell! 🤢

Hope he washed his hands..
But whether its unreasonable depends on your hygiene standards, and if that's the only loo?

BeAzureRaven · 12/09/2026 20:30

Redragtoabull · 09/09/2026 20:59

Okay...

Number 1) It's a control issue, he's deliberately ruined your space because he was not in it. Notice me he said!! Wave that red flag high and wide is what you should do! Because previous GFs have tolerated this shitty behaviour does not mean you lower your standards (? Questionable as you are on here asking) to his previous GFs standards.

Number 2) You already have 1st hand experience so enough said.

Number 3) Four months in, the mask has slipped, see it for what it is, this filth dropper on your me time is showing you in his actions who he is, believe him!

Number 4) Find the door and run. You owe this cretin sweet FA

Best response on here. 100% spot on

BeAzureRaven · 12/09/2026 20:10

Helenaslide · 08/09/2026 15:56

I usually do but as I was about to get in he suggested bringing me a glass of wine up so I left it unlocked for that reason.

I agree with the poster on here who said this was a power playthat he did it deliberately to test boundaries and humiliate you. And he planned itthat's why he tricked you with the wine. You'd be wise to ditch this creep.

Connachtfive · 12/09/2026 20:04

I hope you’re ok x

BeAzureRaven · 12/09/2026 20:03

OMG. Maybe I'm just old and behind the times, but that is disgusting imo. That would be the end of the relationship if it had been my bf.
