To ask for recommendations for hotels in Krakow?

We’ve been given the opportunity for 3 nights away child free beginning to mid December and DH & I have always wanted to go to the Christmas markets in Krakow.

We would also like to visit Auschwitz whilst there.

We are looking for a lovely hotel close to the Christmas markets, we would like a little bit of luxury, a big comfy bed etc.

If anyone has been and can recommend hotels, where to go, what to do etc, I’d be really grateful! Thank you!

Been twice. I love Krakow.
2nd time we stayed it was in Brokilom House. Just off the main square 100% recommended.
We used Michael Krupa on fb for our trips

You must go to the Wodka Cafe.
Do a walking tour as well.

I stayed in Leonardo boutique old town - I really liked it. Quiet spot but not too far to walk to anything.

only think would be the train station nearest to it I probably wouldn’t walk to at night. The main station was only 10-15 minutes though.

Auschwitz opens for booking 90
days ahead so put that in calendar to do. It’s easy to get a train too.

id wrap up warm there though - it’s mostly outside and it’s very open - I can imagine it would be freezing with a cold wind.

I second this hotel - easy walk to old town and Jewish Quarter, really lovely hotel.

Make sure you book Auschwitz direct as some people get theirs cancelled.

We also going to say Leonardo old town. Been a lot with work. This location is great for old town and Jewish quarter. Nice rooms and friendly staff.

We agreed though, that the old town was nice but the Jewish quarter is a bit more atmospheric, less European tourist city

No advice re hotels (we had to cancel our trip booked for June due to family bereavement), but as soon as you book the trip book the Auschwitz entrance tickets straight away as they sell out. You have to book directly with Auschwitz on their website, not via an organised coach trip.

It's very hard to book direct. We used mr shuttle and it was slick.

We also stayed at the Hotel Stary, the pool is like something from a Bond villain’s lair. I loved it, luxurious but not in a brash way. The heated bathroom floor when it was -25 outside was hard to peel myself off (I lay on it as it was cosy).

Have a wonderful time.

I went with my eldest son a few years ago.

We had a room which looked over the main square. It was lovely and really convenient for everything and really good value
It was summer, and the square had loads of things going on which was nice that we could still watch from our room if we didn't want to be out.
We didn't eat there, we ate at various restaurants in krakow. Such a great little break

I’ve noticed that you said you would like a bit of luxury. I’ve always wanted to stay at the H15 Palace Luxury Hotel. I just looked up the priced for around / 20 th December and it looks to be from £250 per night. It’s Michelin recommended and a proper 5 star hotel. It has swimming pool and fitness centre and all the staff speak English. It’s also bang next door to the Czartoryski museum , which is very impressive and has a Leonardo da Vinci. Everything there is the belongings of the Czaroryski family, who had it all stolen in WW2. They launched an action to successfully reclaim everything and sold it to the government at a low price. The family now live in America.

There are so many Michelin recommended restaurants there honestly it's hard not to find one. We did several including a rather swishy fish one but this was the best.

Qubus was fab - had a games room, a boat which took hotel guests out at no extra charge and an excellent breakfast.
