Masked men at Dover - KKK vibes

They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

83% of the population is white. The Prime Minister, the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the literal King are all white. Pretty odd pile.

Exactly
How exactly are they being "pushed to the bottom of the pile?" Just because you see people in power who aren't white too. Doesn't mean they're "getting pushed out." 🙄

They probably couldn’t afford matching stone island

They didn't need room for sledgehammers.

So now per capita is relevant. Well that's a first.

Do you know the reason for their attire?

The only experience I have with violent masked men are Antifa (in this case, intimidating women), are they KKK?

Well I would if I were a white man.

Why? It honestly baffles me.
Your seeing of people at tops and bottoms of "piles" that is.
We're all just people.

If only utopia did exist.

To intimidate.

David Amess anyone? Ann Widdecombe anyone? Jews targeted anyone?
Manchester arena? Shall we all just list deaths and atrocities or agree that anyone can be a target nowadays and what we do not want is hundreds of undocumented potentially dangerous men entering the country illegally every day to increase that risk.

Interestingly a lot of the attacks on Jews has been by Muslims recently in the UK.

That's a silly comparison. Different situation entirely.

As reported everywhere it was an entirely peaceful protest - whether you agree with the protest or not doesn't change that.

No arrests when crimes are being committed isn't the same as no arrests being made because no one did anything to be arrested for. Surely you wouldn't advocate for arrests simply because you disagree with the premise of the protest or "don't want to see a repeat of it"?

Of course it’s a different situation, and I’m not saying there were reasons to arrest anyone in Dover, only that I wouldn’t be using ‘arrests’ as a way to either defend or deplore any protest. It’s complicated, and a planned protest is much better resourced with police, and they’re more alert. Famously, plenty of entirely peaceful protesters have been arrested on larger planned protests.

Black is quite slimming. I presume it was that?

Good to see you're seeing the funny side. Just don't tell the mortified OP.

You seem to think it means you're being told to get to the bottom of a pile.

You do know that an unusually large number of the men taking part in demonstrations against immigrants have convictions for assault against women?

They're "protecting us" though!
(Are they bollocks)

I think the French elections will be a factor in what can be done.

I agree and whether people like it or not, Jordan Bardella knew which spots to hit at the Reform conference.

I've just asked my DH whether he's 'had enough' and he said that we should probably all try to calm down a bit. You don't speak for me. 'Our men' indeed.

It’s a fair point, but lack of arrests doesn’t always mean we want to see a repeat. Look at the soft handling of those morons in Middlesbrough setting fire to cars. Sometimes no intervention is safer, given the lack of resources police have now.

Peaceful marching doesn't usually involve folks clad head to toe in black wearing masks

👏👏

This is terrible. Everyone would agree.

Pretty much everyone wants the illegal immigrants to stop coming, especially by boat.

But these protests don't help with that. Protesting is not the same as suggesting practical things that would work. The government has reduced small boat crossings by 40%. What specific policies would you like them to enact, that are lawful, that they are not already doing? It would be much more helpful for these 'patriots' to be making helpful suggestions rather than just dressing all in black, covering their faces like hard lads, and chanting.

It's not like the government is going 'What? Stop the boats, you say? What a great idea! We hadn't thought of that!'

I think the French elections will be a factor in what can be done.

How very dare white men not stay down at the bottom of the pile, where they are told they belong

I mean, nobody's doing that.
Are you really so threatened by people who aren't white wanting equality that you see it as you're being told to get down to the bottom?
As that's ridiculous if so.

I'm not threatened. Why do you say that?
