i object to any man or woman covering their face whether for religious or political reasons.

Human interaction relies heavily on facial expressions and non-verbal cues. Masking the face can be seen as creating a barrier to trust, social connection, and integration within a community.

Consequently, I don’t trust anyone who attends a demonstration of any political persuasion who wears a mask. We are in a democracy, you don’t need to hide your face unless you have nefarious reasons.
A woman wearing a burqa is being denied agency; she is being intentionally isolated and denied integration and controlled by men.

My friend’s brother has been in prison since before PA were designated as a terrorist organisation. I’m not sure what he did, other than attend a protest. It seems neither are the government as they haven’t brought him to trial as there is nothing a jury can convict him of.

They do it because they don't want to be identified. This cowardly country's employers would no doubt be under pressure to sack them. No doubt they have rent and mortgages to pay and food to buy. People deserve to have a way of protesting and expressing their fear and anger at the way our country is going.

No, not for me. I see citizens at the end of their tether, trying to bring attention to an issue that the government is ignoring. It is unfortunate to it has come to this.

I’m not sure which country will switch first, I suppose Poland and Hungary have anyway. But Germany and France are close. Brexit isn’t a factor in any of those places, the issues are the same.

Everyone should be able to have an opinion, many people are scared about the numbers of small boats and illegal immigrants. But the way they’ve covered their faces feels very cowardly. I don’t think face coverings have any place in British society, the only acceptable face covering/mask should be those used for medical reasons.

Exactly. The police love arresting elderly women holding a sign saying Palestine Action but they made no arrests at all at the Dover protest, despite the disruption and delays that they caused. They all looked very intimidating too.

I wouldn't worry OP. The authorities will be down on this like a ton of bricks. The activists involved will get hefty prison sentences and every resource will be deployed to stop the protests and pre-empt them. Meanwhile, the flotsam and jetsam of the earth will continue to pour over our borders because there is not one iota of will in Andy Burnham's govt or within the EU to stop it.

Latest figures show a sharp drop in immigration over the last year and a sharp drop in small boat crossings. So the govt is addressing immigration. I agree these masked men very intimidating and give off black shirt / Moseley vibes - horrible.

So start with the teenagers masked up and driving e-bikes, motorbikes etc, at speed through high streets up and down the land scaring OAP"s, they are a much bigger problem than a bunch of people making a peaceful protest about undocumented unidentified migrants breaking the law by arriving illegally by boat.
