Masked men at Dover - KKK vibes

MumofCandR · Yesterday 11:53

They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

Yes OP it was disturbing to see.
On the plus side, I think most of the 'ordinary people' who we're constantly being told agree with this sort of thing because the government aren't listening bla bla bla, condemn it too.
Its one thing for people to peaceably make their concerns about immigration known, quite another for a gang of...what do they call them...'fighting age men'...I believe, to rammage through our streets in masks. At worst causing fear at best huge inconvenience to people wanting to travel.
They are in real danger of overplaying their hand with this sort of thing. Most people don't want any gangs of threatening men in their communities.

What, like machete gangs?

The sight of them made my sad heart soar.

At last, England roars.

The sight of masked men stopping ordinary families getting on a ferry to go to France makes your heart soar?

rivalsbinge · Yesterday 17:11

ThatJadeLion · Yesterday 14:25

No I don't get great vibes from the men at Dover. I equally don't get the greatest vibes from the thousands of unknown men every year arriving on our shores.

Exactly this I’d feel safer with the men in masks than the illegals.

The data would be useless if it only monitored the number of boats, wouldn’t it? The number of people arriving is down. You can track it yourself weekly here (yesterday’s arrivals will be published in next week’s release). https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/migrants-detected-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats/migrants-detected-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats-last-7-days

Does it matter that back of lorry numbers are going back up?

smallglassbottle · Yesterday 17:08

It was blokes in anoraks though 😬

Do you suppose they sleep with a copy of Mein Kampf under their pillows and wear secret Nazi underwear? Oooo, I bet they do. I bet they hold meetings in the upstairs of pubs and oppress their girlfriends.

Again, I don’t expect reading or girlfriends feature heavily in the lives of these men. Let’s not valorise them. The decision to behave this way is nothing to do with serious civic duty and everything to do with the kind of male arrogance we see described across MN day in and day out. Men who think they’re fucking heroes because they cooked dinner once, ‘babysat’ their kids, or got into a fight because someone looked at their girlfriend. They think they’re ’protecting our women’ because they think white women are only for them
to use and abuse. If you think these men are some kind of salvation I have a bridge to sell you.

Stairlifter · Yesterday 17:11

smallglassbottle · Yesterday 17:01

So, what sort of protest is acceptable then?

One which applies for and receives the correct permits, takes place in an approved location, where people don't turn up en masse in a uniform, and where faces are uncovered.

MumofCandR · Yesterday 17:08

Dorisbonson · Yesterday 15:18

Wow. So you from this and other comments you think the majority of British people don't want the boats to be stopped.

From that we can infer:

  1. You support the boats and illegal immigrants
  2. You support higher levels of immigration
  3. You likely favour more benefits for immigrants

Anecdata doesn't support either view.

The number of boat crossings might be down but they are now resorting to mega dinghies so more people cross each time. If they stop boat crossing then anticipate a new route to getting people into the country. The method of entry is not the thing to be counting, actual people entering would be the metric to focus on and unfortunately no one actually knows what number, nor how many people in total are in the country that have no right to be.

It cannot be that hard to implement a system using facial recognition cameras alongside citizens registered, and let’s see who is in this country.

Oh grow up! FFS, your idea of England roaring is a bunch of white male losers dressing like the SS? These men are not my England.

No your England is groups of young men coming on small boats to harass young girls. Who believe that the streets are paved with gold. It's women being made into second class citizens. It's the archbishop of Canterbury saying there should be Sharia law in parts of the UK. It's white college students being stabbed, then arrested because they were called racist. It's British soldiers being hacked to death on the streets.

It's children attending a pop concert in Manchester being blown up.

That's your perfect England. It's not mine.

EmeraldShamrock000 · Yesterday 17:06

There is a rise in concern across a lot of society.

No longer can the concerns be downplayed and dismissed as the toothless wc haters. The sooner the better those who have the ability and education to make progress against the system stop judging the wc people whose lives have been affected by mass immigration in their already deprived communities.

This will eventually lead to more unrest.

The government will spread the HMO’s out into affluent communities, then we’ll hear about it when you have 200 unemployed single men from a different culture in your neighbourhood.

Let us hope that it is not too late.

it’s actually quite frightening that someone can’t raise concern about a hard right uniformed gang impacting national infrastructure without the usual bad faith bleating about “strange unvetted men”. The number of boat crossings is down and there have been none in the last week. And if you want to oppose cultures that don’t respect women, have a look at the number of convictions for DV and assaults among the flag shaggers. Jesus

First Brexit now Jesus. Bit much.

Exactly. It was peaceful, the police said it was peaceful. They probably hovered their faces, not because they are thugs but possibly normal working people in jobs that might not be impressed with them standing up for British people this way or thay could usevitcagsonst them. Just think if there were police officers, firefighters, nurses, teachers etc people whose jobs might have been at risk if caught on camera. I think there will be more of these to come and sadly not all will be "peaceful". Many in this country have had enough of the government not giving a toss about the number of "fighting age men" entering the country on a daily basis.

I’d be astonished if any of them had a job, let alone in the professions you mention. These are men who followed the instructions of a rando ‘Christian nationalist’ who is cheered on by Tommy Robinson. I understand why they don’t want to be identified, and they were peaceful, albeit intimidating. But let’s not pretend they are everyday people making a point, they’re a certain kind of man who enjoys operating en masse. No different at all in fact that antifa or any other gang.

0 arrests but but those horrid 'white' men are soooo threatening in their black anoraks!

Madamefroufrou · Yesterday 17:02

Totally agree. Not one arrest and of course they hide their faces lest they get sacked for being 'far right'.
Good for them.
I find trans activists running about in wigs and dresses shouting 'decapitate terfs' and 'burn anyone who disagrees with us' far more threatening.

@Gloriia Yes!
trans activists -
I thought they were more ridiculous than threatening, despite
the vituperative nature of their rhetoric, doubting they could
fight their way out of a paper bag - (I bet they’d fight like girls)

Pineneedlesincarpet · Yesterday 17:01

ClaudettedeBeauvoir · Yesterday 16:58

In nowhere near as many numbers.

There's been an illegal immigrant problem for many years. It's been exacerbated by the wars in the Middle East of course which has destabilised the region together with the spread of mobile phones and the Internet. The French weren't exactly doing a stellar job controlling the border before Brexit (neither were we TBF).

It wasn't a peaceful protest. It used psychological violence and disruption. No physical violence, sure, but that doesn't make it peaceful.

These men do not speak for me. I am English, white, have absolutely no desire for small boat arrivals or illegal immigrants, but these men are thugs and they do not speak for me.

So, what sort of protest is acceptable then?

Switchnow · Yesterday 17:01

Dibdibbob · Yesterday 14:36

This. People are generally very concerned about the continuing numbers of unvetted, young men coming from various countries where their cultural “values” are so different to ours.

these people are unskilled, uneducated and are very likely to be net takers from a UK that is already massively struggling financially. Servicing the UK debt is costing more than defence I believe! We simply cannot afford to accommodate all these people and there is the added danger from these men who have no understanding of consent it seems.

I’ve been saying for ages that I fear we will see increasing civil unrest and more right wing extremism. I really feel for the hard working migrant families that have made a life here who may now be targeted because of the problems caused by the small boat influx.

But of course, voicing these concerns makes me racist and no government seems willing or able to really tackle the influx.

Edited

How does silently standing around in balaclavas, preventing people from going about their business and shutting down a port do anything to make their point though? No manifesto, no solutions, just ‘a message’? If there was a magic solution, don’t you think every government would have grabbed it with both hands? ‘Stop the boats’ is a slogan that ultimately brought down two prime ministers who coined it and failed to deliver. It’s not a solution, it’s a task.

These men are protesting a problem that everyone agrees is a problem, but at a time when the numbers are falling and governments across Europe are trying to find solutions.

NotAnotherScarf · Yesterday 17:01

Op what any YouTube clip of antifa...that's got frightened vibes about it.... everyone masked.

Remember also that these guys had a peaceful protest, they didn't break into military bases or factories where they hit policewomen with hammers.
