Masked men at Dover - KKK vibes

MumofCandR · Yesterday 11:53

They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

Let alone the ones on the pro Palestine demos.

Oh OP of course most people are against the illegal immigration! It's the top issue in most polls (that or the economy). We all know this. And I think 59% of people supporting the navy enforcing our borders is probably on the low side.

I don't even know what 'military intervention' means here. Does it mean the navy shooting at the boats? Have we become that kind of a country?

I would have been absolutely terrified seeing that lot and not knowing what or who.

Apparently they didn't have any banners or let people know what they were doing ??

Poor people about to go on holiday as well getting that fright and all the other issues with ruining people's holidays and journeys.

I don't know whether it's correct but I did read that they were masked up to avoid surveilance but to also illustrate like with the men coming on boats, we don't know who they are ? Could be wrong.

I without a doubt think we need urgent action on the boats but this for me was a step too far.

Let's hope Burnham gets a grip where others have failed.

I'm sure Burnham will get a grip of it soon. Not yet though. He has more pressing policies like making subscriptions easier to cancel to implement first

YourAmplePlumPoster · Yesterday 17:20

Masking up and imitating an army in order to intimidate the civilian population is a crime so I don't know why all the masked Antifa and trans activists at women's rallies don't get arrested.

Like I said, lack of physical violence is not the same as peaceful.

They weren't highlighting a problem. Everyone knows about the problem. They were just complaining about a problem. I too am annoyed by the problem. Most people are. Do you think the government isn't? Do you think that the government thinks 'Small boats are fine'? They would obviously stop them if they could, but it is much harder than it seems due to the legal and practical problems involved in doing so. These lads have no practical solutions.

There are no practical solutions to the situation in Gaza but that hasn't stopped London being upturned every Saturday for 3 years.

RTA - if indeed you are a man, do you honestly believe it’s a good idea
to come on here like a wasp raiding a productive hive, twisting your mouth
and mocking “feelings” - huh?

@Madamefroufrouwhat a way with words, I may have laughed.

59% only said they would be happy with military intervention... It's not about sample size, check your comprehension.

Have a lie down hon, you sound delirious.

And equating a group of English people to the ss is perfectly reasonable?

Typical lefty. Miriam margolyes makes racist comments on live TV and it's fine. Someone is worried about the culture of the UK changing is weird

Madamefroufrou · Yesterday 17:18

RedTagAlan · Yesterday 16:49

Ahh yes. It's the usual claims based on a "feeling".

'Psychological violence'. I've heard it all now. It was peaceful. Not one hammer attack, no placards promoting death or decapitation.

They were protesting against the massive amount of undocumented young men arriving illegally by boats. Yes yes it's 'down' at the moment but that is apparently due to a lack of boats rather than anything our wet government have done to stop it.

We should all be supporting these people highlighting a massive problem.

The hyperbole in your post doesn't help. Round here, it's not immigrants intimidating locals and causing fear and consternation, it's balaclava clad white youths stealing cars and ramming them into shops and houses. It's white youths roaming the streets in gangs looking for lone people to rob.

Any large group of people dressed in black and wearing masks is intimidating, no matter who their target is. Historically such groups are never out to promote peace and community cohesion. And it never ends well.

Hang on, you're saying it's only white youths committing crime.

Of course you’re a supporter of masked men running around in gangs intimidating people, you’ve said elsewhere you support this in your town. But some of us don’t want this where we live, some of us believe in resolving things face to face, in a democratic style, using our brains.

Yeah, because that's totally worked so far hasn't it?!

Switchnow · Yesterday 17:17

smallglassbottle · Yesterday 17:16

I would hazard a guess that they are a variety of men with their own reasons why they're attending these protests.

You’re as entitled to that view as I am to mine.

radiator2 · Yesterday 17:17

smallglassbottle · Yesterday 16:14

They do it because they don't want to be identified. This cowardly country's employers would no doubt be under pressure to sack them. No doubt they have rent and mortgages to pay and food to buy. People deserve to have a way of protesting and expressing their fear and anger at the way our country is going.

I'm sure the pompous leftists will absolutely love their quaint villages and hipster areas being shared by people who despise us and often harm us. You'll be getting your share soon, don't worry.

I never said people don’t deserve to have a way to protest or that anyone should share their space with illegal immigrants.

No your England is groups of young men coming on small boats to harass young girls. Who believe that the streets are paved with gold. It's women being made into second class citizens. It's the archbishop of Canterbury saying there should be Sharia law in parts of the UK. It's white college students being stabbed, then arrested because they were called racist. It's British soldiers being hacked to death on the streets.

It's children attending a pop concert in Manchester being blown up.

That's your perfect England. It's not mine.

5500, of a population of 70 million, more than exceeds the minimum sample size needed to calculate popular sentiment.

YouGov is one of the most reliable market research providers.

They won't support them because they love demonising patriots. They call them names and think the people they are protecting give a shit about them. All this talk of Brexit dragging them down when you've got naive lefties endangering the rest of us. They are more concerned about the welfare of a trouble maker at a conference, than they are about a growing threat to this country.

But let’s not pretend they are everyday people making a point, they’re a certain kind of man who enjoys operating en masse. No different at all in fact that antifa or any other gang.
You are correct, there is a certain type of man who enjoys operating en masse. The women in the Congo, Sudan, Nigeria know all about these types of men. Luckily they don’t live here too…. Not all of them yet anyway.

YourAmplePlumPoster · Yesterday 17:16

It's meant to intimidate. But the ones doing it the most are usually Antifa and trans activists so they can hardly complain. Not last but least, an increasing number of Muslim women wearing full face covering which I regard as intimidation of the secular female population.

Again, I don’t expect reading or girlfriends feature heavily in the lives of these men. Let’s not valorise them. The decision to behave this way is nothing to do with serious civic duty and everything to do with the kind of male arrogance we see described across MN day in and day out. Men who think they’re fucking heroes because they cooked dinner once, ‘babysat’ their kids, or got into a fight because someone looked at their girlfriend. They think they’re ’protecting our women’ because they think white women are only for them
to use and abuse. If you think these men are some kind of salvation I have a bridge to sell you.

I would hazard a guess that they are a variety of men with their own reasons why they're attending these protests.

@StandFirm well Putin is delighted that we keep pull factors to keep migrants coming and he delights in the chaos and weakening of our society and of course it's another revenue stream by washing their money

until the disenfranchised find and cross their border, finding
abandoned farms, villages, widows, animals, machinery, weapons,
vehicles, food, vodka, crops still untended or harvested, there must
be so many …

I’d be astonished if any of them had a job, let alone in the professions you mention. These are men who followed the instructions of a rando ‘Christian nationalist’ who is cheered on by Tommy Robinson. I understand why they don’t want to be identified, and they were peaceful, albeit intimidating. But let’s not pretend they are everyday people making a point, they’re a certain kind of man who enjoys operating en masse. No different at all in fact that antifa or any other gang.

The slide to the far right is scary. The violence at the Reform conference showed what they’re like, their violence is bubbling under the surface, ready to explode at any time. The masked men are just another branch of the Reform/Restore people. Shame on anyone that supports them
