Posting back to school photos of children with their faces covered by emojis

Has anyone noticed the current trend of people posting back to school photos of their children and covering their faces with an emoji? A few influencers and z list celebs are doing it. Theres a particular couple that bang on about keeping their children’s privacy, but on the other hand clearly use their children to promote their brand and sell products. But they will film the children from behind or do those cheesy walking photos. The uniform is obvious to anyone who knows the school so people are posting the school online. Aibu to think it’s so stupid and a bit hypocritical? If you want to protect their privacy just don’t post them online. The parents want the best of both worlds. They know that they can use their children to sell stuff but think a heart emoji is protecting them.

Agree, some people need therapy.
One person I know got 6 kids all she ever does is post pics of them everyday whether they like it or not .
Anyone would think she was the only person to ever have children.

I’d prefer this to some of the parents I’ve seen on my Facebook and Instagram.

In most of these photos the children’s school badges were on full show, personalised backpacks with the kids names visible, stood infront of their houses showing the door number or infront of cars showing registrations and stating in the photo description what year the child is going into.

People have got far too comfortable sharing so many of their personal details online.

True and it's so boring.
Everyone has a first day at school. It's not major breaking news.
I've seen parents say we had to force xxxx to have their picture taken.
Why, just leave them alone you idiot. Stop thinking your so important and everyone wants to see your kids face nearly every week.
No respect for their privacy at all.

Either post it or don’t post anything, there is always the option to privately share the picture with close family and friends without having to share it publicly.

It always makes me laugh how these pictures always seem to be taken with the brand new shiny Land Rover and BMW in the background. Or in the fancy new kitchen. Or outside the house to show off the just how big a mortgage you have.

It’s a way to show off and introduce your family to everyone else in your kid’s school. So everyone knows exactly the sort of family you are.

People “ Influencing” and documenting their lives heavily online using their children is a pretty new thing so we’re yet to really see a whole grown up generation of these children who have been used and exploited by their parents but the reckoning will come.

We’ve seen a few stories like the Ruby Franke and Piper Rochelle documentaries which show the dark side of what these kids are forced to live with but give it 5/10 years and you’ll have all the celebs kids disowning them and doing their own tell all documentaries about how they were forced to live this fake life on camera etc.

It isn't all celebs and infuencers though - everyone I know on social media who has a kid seems to do these "back to school" photo's. Some attempt to hide badges or faces or their door numbers, some don't. All the peados want is a kid in a picture they can manipulate. Sharing pictures of kids publicly is more risky than most people seem to realise. Even schools use AI faces now on their websites and socials.

I didn’t know that you could remove the emojis. Makes it even more stupid.

It annoys me because they are just grifters using their children to make money but the ones who use the emojis somehow act like they are better preaching about privacy.

There’s news now about stealing images of kids from social media and using AI on them for awful purposes. I had minimal photos of my kids on Facebook but I deleted them all last year. So I get why people are more cautious, though obvs it’s better not to put anything on social media at all.

I think they assume no one can remove it - a complete falsehood from what I heard on a show the other day. Peado's will just download it if it is public, remove the stickers ad make AI porn from them still.

Maybe they're doing it because the kids have still got breakfast or toothpaste around their mouth and they only noticed after taking the picture?
