What are your 9 year olds doing today (Saturday)

My 9 year old had a couple of hours playing Fortnite with his friends this morning. We then drove over to the next town for a dog walk and look around the shops, had a drink in the pub garden. Watched some Netflix/youtube whilst dinner was cooking, ate that, had a bath, watched a Mr Beast YouTube video with his dad then read in bed for 30mins.

I have 9 year old twin girls. After breakfast one drew, the other played chess with older brother.
Both them played a fairly insane game of 'Amazon adventurers' with little brother. Went to church. Watched a film after lunch. Played with play doh, finished chess game and drawing. Read. Played in garden. Watched Lego masters before bed.

My 8 year old hates all sports and activities that involve other people. So we went on a dog walk, and then to a climbing wall where he can climb on his own. Had dinner. The rest of the day he was watching YouTube. I really struggle to fill the time with things. He won’t do schoolwork outside school so can’t practice stuff like handwriting and he won’t read outside school, I have tried extensively. He will only do individual activities. He is ND.

Saturday my 10 year old went to football training in the morning and went to watch our local team play football in the afternoon.

After tea time he did play Fortnite online with his friends for a couple of hours.

Lego. Playing in garden. Trip to shops. Lego. Swimming.

8 and 11 year old DCs. Yesterday they played with sylvanian families first thing, then went to their performing arts club 10 - 1, then lunch and more sylvanian families. After not playing with them for a long time they've suddenly been a massive hit again this weekend.

Today they watched TV (The Worst Witch current fave) for a few hours this morning, then 8 year old got showered and dressed before lunch and spending afternoon at a friend's house, the 11 year old made a birthday card for his grandad, listened to music in his room, did some baking and played Minecraft. He would usually be playing out with friends but no-one was about today. After tea they played sylvanian families together again, 11 year old and me read our books together and then we all battled over bedtime!..

No tablets or YouTube in our house but they do watch a fair bit of TV - mainly either CITV or quiz shows as a family.

My 8 year old had football and then him and his 10 year old sister just played most of the day with a few neighbour kids. We live in a cul-de-sac, there's several of similar age and they play out the front on bikes and scooters, go on trampolines, play ball games or just make up various games. Usually have to drag them back in for dinner.

Well yes, they do if you let them 🤷‍♀️

We were up early to take a teen to training, so were on the beach by 0730. Took dog for a lovely walk, then the other teen was dropped off for her stint training. Had tea and toast/pancakes at a cafe on the beach, then another walk and some rock pooling. Didn't have our swimmers annoyingly. This took us through to around midday.

Then a drive around to drop teen at boyfriend's house, and the afternoon chilling at home playing VR/watching TV while I sorted the garage.

Uk private school, hobbies and sports year 3 to year 8 then academic from 9 onwards, with sports in the afternoon.

My 10-yr old did an hour of footy training and two hours of tennis club (very low-key).

It was his sibling's birthday, so after lunch we had some family around then went for a walk. Later after tea he went to the rec nearby to meet a friend to play football. Also did some Zelda on the Switch and probably watched some rubbish football clip compilations on YouTube! That's a pretty standard Saturday.

Ds - 7, yesterday he did some chores in the morning, and then had a fair amount of screen time, then we went to town, spent some time in the library, shoe shopping, then home for a movie. Today, we went to church, had a snacky lunch outside, went to a story telling activity, then he's played some games on the t computer with Dh, then helped make some school lunchbox snacks, then a movie.

Yesterday for ds8 was screen time, then homework then judo then lunch. In the afternoon he finished making a rather tricky Lego technical car. Then he helped mow the lawn. Then we watched a movie then screen time, bath, reading and bed.

Today was screen time then a swim at 8.45 so we were out until 10.30am. Then Minecraft. 15 mins of reading. After lunch played with his drone in the park) and helped me clear out some old toys (which meant he played with some of the things we re-discovered). Then practised piano, had roast chicken dinner and then screen time and bed.

Usually we would do a big cycle (25km+) on a Sunday but we are all getting over a cold so decided to be less active than normal.

Yesterday mine had a football match mid morning. He spent the afternoon on his iPad and playing with his sister (some Roblox and some non screen related playing). We watched soccer Saturday on telly too.

On Saturday we had a swimming lesson, cinema trip, climbing trees in the park, cycling locally, ice cream parlour. We tend to avoid screen time by being out of the house a lot, we are usually out and about on Saturdays.

Today we had a full on day at a theme park, we don't often go but dc usually does a club on Sundays and it hasn't started yet for the term so we had the whole day free.

My 9 & 8 year old spent most of today playing out with friends. DH and I were decorating all day so it was good for them to get out of my hair!
DS spent a good couple of hours in his iPad before he went out about 10.30. DD has been playing Lego and on bikes all day - with friends. She is just watching a bit of TV now before bed

When I started school abroad we went to school Saturdays and Sundays and had Thursdays and Fridays off. Maybe the pp lives somewhere similar.

My 8 year old is sick today so has been watching tv or playing computer games all day, following an appointment this morning.

On a typical non sick day, they are usually burned out from school week as they are autistic so I don’t book in any clubs on the weekends.

A typical Saturday would probably be watching tv and eating breakfast in the morning. We would try to get them out the house to move at least once in the day (if the weather isn’t horrendous). Ranges from climbing wall, swimming, play date, playground or out on rollerskates. Sometimes just getting them to do anything is a feat so a trip to the cinema or shops will do.

Usually do some sort of drawing:crafts and finish day with a film and dinner.

Generally let my 8 year old watch films and decompress as long as we get out at least once and as long as they have a bit of non screen time.

My mantra is do something physical, something creative and then do what you want.

Late to this, but yesterday mine didn't get dressed until lunch, watched a film in the morning. Afternoon he 'helped' with some baking (about 15 mins) and eventually agreed to a walk round the very close park, where we bumped into friends and couldn't get him to leave 😂

Ours have been to church. They are singing in the choir.
Doing music practise and math homework after lunch. Took them an hour. Done an hour of reading.
Netflix/YouTube for the rest of the day I suppose.

Picking mine up from dancing shortly - she’s been there since 9:30, mixture of classes and carrying on with her friends in between. When she gets home likely chilled rest of day - some tv, some bead craft (current obsession). We try to play a board game as a family after dinner on Saturdays when we can
