To wonder if Reform voters actually realise that Farage and his cronies are responsible for the increase in migrant boats reaching the UK

Because Brexit , for which Farage was a leading advocate, put a stop to the UK being able to send the boats back. Before Brexit there was a returns agreement in place.
So be careful if you think he actually has a clue what he is doing.

Thanks eastern I saw this but can't copy or link.

Hopefully now the beloved EU has taken these steps it will be easier for us to implement it.

Yes the same posters who were adamant we couldn’t do it are often pro EU. Now five EU key countries are implementing this whilst Starmer scrapped it on day one.

No.
Immigration was good for people who wanted a cheap Polish plasterer. Not so good for a UK plasterer with a family to support who cant compete with someone here for a couple of years, living 15 to a house and sending every penny back to Poland. Not so good for the economy either!

That’s a different argument.
There is no doubt the millions that immigrated put a cap on wage rises, but they were economically active and paid taxes.

Illegal migrants are travelling across many countries (including France, a safe place) because they are attracted to all the wonderful benefits we offer, didn't you know?

Brexit was a failure because the faceless organisations running the Government didn't want it to succeed. I say this as someone who voted to stay. If I voted again, I would vote "leave". Sick of it.

Accommodation and healthcare while waiting will be a factor. Five EU countries will process in a third country. That’ll be a factor too. It’ll be in a similar or same place as the one Starmer scrapped.

On September 4, 2026, the interior and migration ministers of Denmark, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Greece met in Copenhagen and finalized the next concrete steps to establish these offshore deportation centers

If you mean the Dublin agreement, this resulted in very few people being moved to another EU country let alone 'going home'.

It's a shame you can't be bothered to understand the actual proposals instead of stringing together your deliberately simplistic misunderstanding and pretending people "wish for" your manipulation.

I understand the proposals as well as anyone could from the childlike bare bones of a wishlist Reform call their 'manifesto'.
I also understand welfare benefits and the impact of changes to the system. I understand the difference between policies that will actually reduce public spending and those that merely appear to, while actually just moving spending from one place (benefits) to others (NHS, social care, social services, CJS) Do you? If not, you might want to try before you parrot their nonsense.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 05/09/2026 08:55

If the governments across Europe don’t want political parties who are considered far right then they need to take action.
As an example Poland has a prime minister who has a set of balls.
All the while women, men, children, Christian’s, in parts of India, Sudan, Congo, Nigeria are being persecuted by radicalism, using a machete the same radicals hitting Europe.

Yes how are people missing this?

Perhaps the OP can return and explain, when she's available?

EmeraldShamrock000 · 05/09/2026 08:43

It is happening all over Europe. Mass immigration entering the countries illegally. It is not a problem in England only, it is happening all over, the destabilisation of Europe.
Brexit is not the reason as it doesn’t explain why other European countries are in a similar situation.
They’re coming through France a EU country.
The EU is allowing this.
Some people are in control of orchestrating this but I doubt Farage has the power, it is a real life Squid game.
Is Farage also responsible for the 10,000’s who came from Morocco. Nah, someone much bigger is.

If removing these people is important why did Starmer cancel the offshore processing plan on his first day on office? The one 5 European countries are now implementing? Will you be against that removal plan? You seem to want them here solely so you have a anti Brexit anti Farage made up story to tell people to be careful about. Careful about your complete failure to understand?

Farage is responsible for all and sundry if you listen to some of the bizarre people. Take this protestor at the Reform Conference. She's a self-confessed 'actor' who pretends to be a Reform voter so she can gain access to the conferences, purely to disrupt them at some point. Does she sound mentally stable to you? Yet we are told she's one of the intelligent ones. She will be standing with her Refugees welcome signs. Anyone and everyone she will stand for except the white heterosexual man .

@Newrumpus ”Underlying this debate there was always an element of the right versus wrong type of immigrant.”

Exactly! People who work and are net contributors, vs people who don’t and are net recipients.

Free housing, food, healthcare, education, the list goes on.

I'd understand if we did this because domestic UK poverty was near 0. But then we do this and then they attack so many women here

Asylum seekers aren't entitled to benefits anyway.

Entitlement only starts when they have been granted refugee status.

Thank you for this. I had wondered why the sudden increase in boats when there’s always been refugees/migration coming here but didn’t have an awareness of this change to make this link.

I agree. Also regional conflicts, economic factors, and technology (people smugglers can run everything so much more easily now with phones and internet) that has caused numbers to increase over the years.
I’m no fan of Farage whatsoever and Brexit hasn’t helped dealing with France and other EU allies at all, but to blame it all on Brexit is foolish and simplistic

The benefits system in the UK is also putting food on the table and keeping a roof over the heads of a huge chunk of Reform support. Very few of their voting demographic (the less well educated less well paid) would benefit from welfare cuts. Its been implied that if we gave less to immigrants then there would be more for them, because they see themselves as 'genuine'. However this is a very simplistic understanding of the situation. Welfare cuts mean less money for the poorest people in our society, so they need to be very careful what they wish for.

It's a shame you can't be bothered to understand the actual proposals instead of stringing together your deliberately simplistic misunderstanding and pretending people "wish for" your manipulation.

Keymoment · 05/09/2026 08:37

KatiePricesKnickers · 05/09/2026 08:21

How much do they get?

Well, it all varies depending on the benefit. France unemployment benefit is about 60% of your salary for about two years. Average net is over 1,000 euros net per month. Italy is 75% of your salary for two years. State pensions in Iceland are just under 36k euros a year. In the Netherlands it’s just over 20k euros a year.

LakieLady · 05/09/2026 08:36

Keymoment · 05/09/2026 08:16

But the UK has some of the lowest benefits in West Europe, and considerably less than Nordic countries. I’m amazed how much relatives get in Italy, France and Germany. A benefit seeker would do far better elsewhere.

Goggga · 05/09/2026 08:35

Welfare should only be for UK citizens.... Not a hard thing to grasp.

The benefits system in the uk is contributing to an increase in immigrants. And the fact we speak English.
And we’re so inclusive ! Anyone who disagrees is just racist.

Listening to some of the vox pops from the attendees at the conference today have been shocking. The Dunning Kruger effect doesn't even begin to cut it. It's an indictment of our education system that we have people this stupid in this country. The fact that these people volunteer to put themselves in front of a microphone is flabbergasting - they really have no idea how dim they are.

And yet people still can’t notice no EU country is sending everyone back to a country of first entry.
