I can't answer that question, but no doubt all will be revealed during the investigation.

If it was a "sting" all they had to do was say "thanks for the offer but no thanks, that would be against the rules" and there wouldn't have been a programme for us to discuss. So simple really. I try to live by the maxim that if I wouldn't want my family and friends seeing it in the news, don't do it. Young Nige could do with bearing that in mind.

I am sure there were some things that couldn't be broadcast, but will help the parliamentary and police investigations.

You're right, it's not about you.

It's about a meeting in which senior members of Reform PLC attempted to get around the laws regarding political donations.

It's about Reform getting polls paid for by other people, and not declaring their interest in the polls.

Legally parties have to declare the true donor, it appears Reform hasn't done this.

Alongside that mysterious £5,000,000 that was "gifted" to Farage it does really make them look like grubby, money grabbing chancers

The Telegraph has pulled all its articles and data which were based on the JLP polls. Is it part of the lefty conspiracy against Farage?

Was it their left-wing nature that made Nigel say "thank you" to an illegal donation?

Was it because they're left-wing that the aides asked them to fund opinion polling?

Please do enlighten me as to how the left-wing nature of those conducting the sting affects the actions and words of those recorded in the video.

I watched it in full last night. They really put themselves in the mire with very little encouragement. Couldn't wait to get their grubby mitts on the proposed £500k and it would be "fine, under the radar, everyone was doing it".

I watched it all last night and it was jaw-dropping. My favourite part was where they were eating oysters and drinking Guinness with champagne toppers (?!). Nige's right-hand-man was asked how many oysters he wanted and four was suggested. He replied something like "Four? I think not, give me half a dozen". Yeah good old man-of-the-people Nige, schmoozing an American donor with oysters and champagne.

This is a great sting and brilliant journalism. However, I can’t see it changing much. If the people voting Reform haven’t already concluded they’re dodgy, they’re never going to.

That said, what it does do is effectively stop Reform forming a government. To do so, they need to push on from their current vote share. To do that they need to convince people who are dyed in the wool Reform fans to vote for them. They do that by detoxifying their brand. This does the total opposite and Nigel, who was once their biggest asset, is increasingly looking like an electoral liability.

It’s a tough one for them. Stick with Nigel and the “dodgy” label hangs around. Get rid and they’re just a bunch of nobodies and opportunistic former Tories.

You know, I hate Reform with a passion and Farage in particular, but you need to remember that the left - which is my lifelong political side - calling a huge swathe of the voting public thick racist pigs helped land us with Brexit and it'll do the same with Reform

The poster never mentioned Farage, they just said Reform voters will not condemn anything the party does. Imo that's because they allow them to indulge their hatred of a very specific demographic.
