I've got an annual leave day today and am spending the morning shamelessly on the sofa watching daytime TV with cups of tea and biscuits after an exhausting school summer hols. Kids back at school today. I've given myself permission to vegetate till 3:15pm. So here I am watching This Morning and have just spent 5 minutes with my jaw wide open and hand over my mouth at what Miriam Margolyes just said to Andi Peters. Did anyone else see it?? I mean it takes a lot to shock me. I am not easily shocked. And this woman is currently doing a sell out tour?? Whoah.

It just proves that so called progressives like her are far more conscious of “differences” than most others who just accept everyone around them for what they are - her comments were paternalistic racism in effect.

You can almost see her beady little eyes light up and the cogs in her brain registering, “Ooh I’m talking to a black man!” followed by subtle, condescending compliments and over-exaggerated validation.

I'm really hoping that we will see more of Andi Peters, who is infinitely more engaging and professional than the usual 'stable' of presenters who seem to be omnipresent and have been for a while.

Andi Peters doesnt really need to do presenting, he is quite a successful producer, he has his fingers in lots of projects and different media. Like I said he is on QVC a lot but I get the impression he literally does that out of enjoyment, not because he needs to turn a coin.
