the earth rotation is slowing....

days are drifting longer and longer, until they're 30 then 34 then 40 ets hours long.

would you live your life by the 24 hour clock and accept dark and light comes bad goes randomly or try to live by the sun up, day, sun down, night?

bearing in mind at some point daylight will last 24 odd hours, similarly night too.

DH think real time - sun up, sun down

aibu to think the only sanity is 24 hours makes a day, get some black out curtains for the light nights?

Years ago l read a book with this plot line, l just had to Google it was called 'the age of miricales' as far as l recall it didnt end well, I might re read

There was a research study where a woman spent 3 months living in a cave with no external light or clocks. She had an electric light and cooking things and books and could make her own schedule. I think she settled into days of about 25 hours. So in normal life we are all rushed to fit things into just 24 hours.

if that's fascinating, I wonder what my natural circadian rhythm would be without obligation and sunrise?

Firstly, workplaces already expect you to be contactable 24/7, so no change except for how you phrase it. 40/10?
Then gravity probably wouldn’t work if that happened so we’d have all floated off or evolved into heavier creatures. Actually, wait…. That may just be happening anyway.

This already happens in some parts of the world. Maybe visit there if you want to try it out?

no, there day might lasts for months at a time, not 25 hours of one then the other then 24.5 hours of one and 25 hours of the other. and it's pretty hard to grow much there and hardly anyone lives there and my kids will moan of I make them emigrate.

Sun up, sun down. If humans are still around by the time it makes a big difference to awake/asleep patterns they will have adapted to cope.
