To regret the colour of my bedroom

Its fine, though I prefer a darker or more olive green. You need a third colour to go with the green and cream - not bright red but oxblood or a dusky pink. And plenty of nice wood. It will look lovely when dressed properly. There's no such thing as too much green!

I would consider adding some "architectural excess" as well. You can completely transform the room simply by putting some coving. I am on a similar situation with the house renovation and I have some rooms which I thought looked hideous. I printed the ceiling the same colour as walls, put in some coving and a nice wooden floor, framed windows with architrave and suddenly the whole room came together.

I'd go over it in a softer mossy or olive green. Your green is too bold and saturated to be relaxing.

Green is awesome as a neutral colour because its grass coloured. Almost any colour would pop like flowers.

Id go for patterns, personally florals but any pattern with green in it would work

Any wood accents would work, with cream or natural fabrics and shades. Like stone, wood and beige.

As would autumnal shades and bronze.

Repaint it. You'll spend a fortune on accessories that you don't really like in an attempt to make it work and you still won't be happy with it in the end. It'll be cheaper in the long run if you bite the bullet and repaint it now.

Noone gives a shit if you like the shade of green or not. It’s not your bedroom. Lots of people on here probably wouldn’t like your bedroom either.
You seemed to think the OP was doing something wrong in asking for advice on how to style the room. That’s what people were commenting on, not your opinion on the shade of green.

I like it. I think I'd use cream and pink as accent colours.

In what way have I been “nasty,” exactly? Is it because I’m not falling over myself to tell the OP that the room is gorgeous? I think that particular green is ugly AF ... that is an opinion about paint, not some extraordinary act of cruelty so please get over yourself. Also, if she posted that room in an actual interior-design space then she’d have been eaten alive. People there would pick apart the undertone, the saturation, the way the color reacts to the light, the proportions, the finishes, the whole thing. They are not going to sit around going “gorgeous hun ❤️” because someone painted four walls green and wants validation.

You decided to speculate that my medical condition was responsible for my personality because your SIL apparently has the same condition and is blunt. That was ignorant, patronizing, and wildly inappropriate and now you’re calling me names because I objected to you dragging my health into a completely unrelated discussion. It wasn’t your opinion on the green that is being commented on. It’s the fact that you seem to be so offended by the OP asking for opinions on how to style the green, on a casual chat forum basically designed to ask people’s opinions.

I remember seeing a glorious combination of pale green and lilac in an Arts & Crafts property in the Lakes. The theme was flowers of those colours & it was so stylish, it’s has been an inspiration for some of my own decor for the 2 decades since then. So, perhaps you could go towards the purple-ish side of the spectrum?

What an unbelievably stupid assumption. I’ve always been blunt, and I think the green is ugly because the green is ugly, not because I have MS. Trying to explain away someone’s opinion by blaming their medical condition is patronizing, ignorant, and frankly far more offensive than anything I said about a paint color.

YANBU! My sister decided to decorate her bedroom in a similar green colour before she moved out, and I have to say that it is not pleasant to look at at all. If you regret it now, absolutely repaint it because, at the end of the day, that's your bedroom. That's your private space for you to feel happy and comfortable in, not spending your time second-guessing or wondering whether you like the colour or not :)

That is an awkward colour to match. Our bedroom is green but more of a pale mint shade and we have chosen navy blue for curtains and lampshade. Many shades of blue compliment green or look at a colour wheel and choose the contrasting colour.

Well, that's odd. Is it the lighter or the darker colour? The lighter one is fine.

I like the green. I have a lot of green accessories, which I complement with pale pink, it looks lovely. As you’ve gone all-in on green walls I don’t think you should do green accessories too. Cream, natural wood, pale pink.

Don't Valspar do that "love your colour" guarantee? I often find their mixed colours come out much brighter than they look on the samples. Once I painted our baby DD's room yellow (in the evening) and the next morning in the daylight realised it was hideous (like a rubber glove). Watered it down with white to get the pale yellow I intended!

If you keep it I agree with adding neutrals - cream carpet and dark wood furniture.
Maybe some patterned greeney/brown/cream curtains to break it up too?

Wow, that is a bright green! I do agree with PPs that once you add furniture and soft furnishings / decor it will look a lot better.

Personally, I would embrace the bold and adopt a look like @LibertyLily , the bold green needs some bold colour to balance it. I think you could do something really interesting. Maybe take a look at Pinterest for maximalist decor inspiration?

All that said, if you’re definitely not sure, it might be cheaper to just repaint. You may otherwise find yourself having to source lots of accessories in a style / colour not of your original choice to make it work, which might end up costing more than a simple repaint.

There’s a terrible troll on this thread who you mustn’t reply to.

Personally I think if you have any doubts, repaint and hang the cost. You'll always feel you have compromised. I've made several mistakes over the years and always felt better by repainting. That said I currently have a horrendous mauve bedroom waiting to be repainted. It's a lovely colour but the north facing light makes it look so dreary. Light can make or break a room.

The green is quite punchy so I would soften it with what else you put in the room. Linen curtains (beige more than cream), antique brass hardwear, that kind of thing.
