This is some dystopian lord of the flies hell. Those poor women. Burned on the boat. Wth. Poor man stabbed to death. Why are the people that did this then going to be roaming free in the UK? Why are they allowed to enter the UK in the first place? Why are gangs not being 'smashed'?

Why won't the government tell us the truth about their crime rates?

Channel chaos as migrant dies, two women burned and one stabbed on same boat

Forty-five of those on board continued towards the UK and were picked up by a British rescue vessel.

On the 28th August 3 boats with 122 people arrived, so the French article probably just covers who they aid.

Or they were different boats from the ones the French stopped? 6 boats in one summer day isn’t a lot when we are getting close to 50k people a year that way.

NullaEffugium · 31/08/2026 13:42

Thanks, says that the judge thinks it’s a pack of lies he was ever an interpreter for the British army. How dare he be a Walter Mitty on top of a rapist? Scum

No, they were following them and then stopped them. Curious what the other article is saying.
Le bateau a ensuite suivi l’embarcation jusque dans les eaux britanniques, avant de rentrer en direction du quai Paul Devot, à Calais, vers midi, pour une prise en charge par les autorités et les secours.

The boat followed the [refugee] vessel just inside British waters before returning to Paul Dévot Quay in Calais around noon for pickup of the occupants [of the refugee vessel] by the authorities and rescue services.

The photo even shows them disembarking in Calais. Note the French on the tent and the French flag on the rescue boat.

Au total, sur les journées du 26 au 28 août 2026, 81 personnes ont été prises en charge par le CROSS Gris-Nez, pour trois tentatives de traversée, à savoir Fécamp, Wissant et Gravelines.

A busy night watching them all leave ? What on earth are the French doing

No, they were following them and then stopped them. Curious what the other article is saying.

Yes, the Nord Littoral calls all 3 attempted crossings.

The arrivals are reported for each date, so August 28th shows how many did, whether they were outside that article or not.

KatiePricesKnickers · 31/08/2026 13:33

NullaEffugium · 31/08/2026 13:24

Nord littoral says this boat was one of three crossing attempts between 26 and 28 August taken care of by CROSS gris-nez who are out of Calais. The three attempts were trying to go to Fecamp, Wissant and Gravelines.

Where is the other report and is it about the same boat?

Up to a point yes, but there's nothing in Islam which supports the kind of atrocities being mentioned. Unfortunately those are down to far too many who've corrupted it for their own malign ends

I think you'll find there is.

Like the one who abducted and raped a woman in his taxi in Edinburgh and then needed an interpreter although he was An Interpreter?

Who was this?

NullaEffugium · 31/08/2026 13:27

AndyKitten · 31/08/2026 07:15

I’m reading two articles and it’s all a bit unclear.

Apparently it was a very busy night because there were three departures and another vessel was in distress as well.

Yes, the Nord Littoral calls all 3 attempted crossings.

NullaEffugium · 31/08/2026 13:26

AndyKitten · 31/08/2026 06:43

Same article states that 45 of these continued to the UK. They set off in Gravelines.

So no, they are not in Calais.

Edited

Which article? The Nord Littoral says they were attempting to go to Gravelines but were stopped by CROSS Gris-Nez just before reaching British waters. Then taken back to Calais.

NullaEffugium · 31/08/2026 13:24

KatiePricesKnickers · 31/08/2026 06:29

Now I’m confused because the Daily Express says ‘Forty-five of those on board continued towards the UK and were picked up by a British rescue vessel, according to French authorities.’

Nord littoral says this boat was one of three crossing attempts between 26 and 28 August taken care of by CROSS gris-nez who are out of Calais. The three attempts were trying to go to Fecamp, Wissant and Gravelines.

I'm a relapsed Catholic and so much abusive and vilness has gone on I find it hard to believe I was raised catholic.

I understand it gives people a comfort and community feel however.
I find if strange how easily I fall into mass and the "responses " how easily programmed I was!!

I'm happy to openly talk about this in real life.

However I wouldn't ever dream of mentioning islam at all and I've had to tell DD to never ever mention religion to her Muslim friend. My DD has been very vocal about not believing in God but I've said you cannot mention this to your friend.

I've also been told that in islam you are born muslim which makes sense that people want Islam phobia laws.

I would never consider myself to be born Catholic i was born free and raised as a cathlolic.

I suppose it comes down to what form Islamophobia takes really. I can't imagine many welcome outright hatred and physical attacks, but it's also true that some shriek the claim purely because of something they happen to dislike or find inconvenient

I agree though that no religion should be free from scrutiny, and I do mean none
Trouble is, some shout louder than others and/or are more enmeshed with those in power, and some are inclined to give in to this

Agree with all of this.

What would Jesus advise we do about the people coming here in small boats and claiming asylum?

I think he would ask where the women and children are apparently with women for the time he was quite progressive and put the blame for lust on the " one looking lustfully " rather then the women!
That's massive ,a huge difference there between religions who blame the women ?

He also said "little children come unto me ".

So i think he would say where are the women and children .

When there are more than 2 billion Muslims in the world, it stands to reason that when talking about a 'minority' of Muslims being extremists - that 'minority' could be millions.

You're not wrong, CoventryCity, and that's where holding the line with special pleading comes into it. I'm sure we've all got things we'd love to work "just for us", but have to realise we can't always have exactly what we want, all the time

I should add that I'm coming to this from the standpoint where, because of the sector and region, at least 80% of my employees were Muslim. Not unnaturally I've seen it all, from the vast, vast majority of wonderful people to the few who thought an accusation of racism would overturn them failing an interview ... and never mind that another Muslim got the job

In the end, at least for me, it comes down to this: all cultures and communities have tossers, but belonging to selected ones shouldn't stop us pointing this out

I honestly believe Islamophobia shouldn’t be a thing.

No religion should be above scrutiny.
