This is some dystopian lord of the flies hell. Those poor women. Burned on the boat. Wth. Poor man stabbed to death. Why are the people that did this then going to be roaming free in the UK? Why are they allowed to enter the UK in the first place? Why are gangs not being 'smashed'?

Why won't the government tell us the truth about their crime rates?

Channel chaos as migrant dies, two women burned and one stabbed on same boat

Forty-five of those on board continued towards the UK and were picked up by a British rescue vessel.

And they have the gall to call us uneducated and gullible.

Pathetic.

I’m embarrassed for her and the other posters of the same ilk.

Me too. Projecting aren't they, and it isn't pretty.

We are all thick and gullible and @CoventryCity puppets. It's like being back at school with that mentality and still isn't shutting down conversation.

Tbf there were a few who picked this up, ran with it and had a go too.

It wouldn’t have been under the asylum system nor would he have arrived by boat or other irregular means of entry.

He would have applied under one of the three Afghan programs, it’s a seperate visa type.

Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP): Designed for Afghan citizens who worked for or with the UK Government. This scheme closed to new applications on July 1, 2025, though existing pending applications and pre-approved individuals continue to be processed under specific timelines. 1, 2]
Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS): Aimed at vulnerable individuals and those who assisted UK efforts. The government confirmed no further ACRS pathways or referrals would be opened after July 1, 2025.1]
Afghanistan Response Route (ARR): Discontinued in July 2025, with processing limited strictly to those already issued invitation letters

But if his age was out as you say how was it not noticed?

Probably lying, how can a 19yr old have been an interpreter for the British army in Afghanistan between 2006 to 2014? He would have been aged 0 to 7.

No British unit would allow a kid to work as an interpreter.

I think the girl he raped was 19.

He’s 36.

I guess we should caveat if we are speculating. Like I was speculating based on the patchy information that the burns are accidental unless they are part of the criminal investigation about the stabbing as there’s no specific mention of the burns being investigated. I do know that friction burns from riding astride with say a nylon rope twisted around your leg or sitting to close to the outboard motor - these traffickers always overload the dinghies so it’s crowded and the motors overheat abd often break down.

Yes they can help a boat that needs it in deep water but can’t stop them there. There’s a legal distinction on what can be done.

Oh, I thought that new agreement Starmer made meant that they could. I will have to revisit those reports to see if I am misremembering.

How did he get through that lie for asylum or ILR?

? The article says they are. Just inside British waters is literally on the search and rescue boundary in the middle of the channel. That’s deep water.

They’re not stopping them in deep water. Unless you mean on the beach with tear gas etc and you feel that’s a good thing.

He's reported here as being an interpreter. So either he is, or he's a lying scumbag who's conned his way into the country.

It wasn’t sunburn, the French was clear these were burns not sunburns, however they are likely accidental burns given no criminal investigation is happening. Well, just thinking out loud, unless the guy who was stabbed burnt the women and that is how he ended up stabbed? Either self defence by one of the women or by another man trying to protect them?

Which poster mentioned 'sunburn' first I wonder. Easy to check ofc.

At least the French are doing something to stop the boats.

I wondered where the sunburn thing came from, which appeared a few times. That was a definite apparently.

This is awful. It’s also why women want the system changed.

NullaEffugium · 31/08/2026 13:43

Or they were different boats from the ones the French stopped? 6 boats in one summer day isn’t a lot when we are getting close to 50k people a year that way.
