I know I sound horrible. I know I’ll get lots of hate saying leave him the poor man but I know a lot of women feel the same.
I love him but he just gets on my nerves anyone feel the same? Give me stories / things your husbands do that grate on you like a fork on a brick wall. 😂 I know I sound vile. I’m honestly not, just ughhhhh shudder.

This thread is hilarious.

I hate 'do you want me to put the bin out?' Like im ever going to say no darling, i dont, i really want to do it.

EmailsaysOOO · 30/08/2026 22:46

Mine's lovely. Sorry you're in this position

Dontlletmedownbruce · 30/08/2026 21:16

What's the longest post allowed OP?

Dh yawns loudly, like a big massive roar. He also sneezes too loudly, he claims he can't not do this but I think its a choice to vocalise a sneeze. I'm ridiculous apparently.

He touches food. I cannot explain why but he does it. When he is plating up dinners he uses he hands, potatoes, meat, veg, pasta etc. He claims it doesn't make a difference cos his hands are clean but the forks and glasses he uses are covered in greasy stains. If I leave him this will be the reason.

He is going a bit deaf, not his fault but he tries to ask me a question while I'm either half asleep and my voice is thick and croaky or while im doing a chore and my head is stuck in a fridge or dryer. Then asks me to repeat and speak up about 3 times.

When we arrange to watch something together he comes in sits down, I usually turn off what I was watching then he says just one second I need to get something or go to the toilet, then he gets distracted doing jobs or scrolling and I'm sitting with a paused screen for 20 mins. I don't pause anymore because I obviously realise this but it annoys me because we need to get sleep and delaying it delays bed.

He tries to stand back to allow me or others to go first in a gentlemanly way but gets it wrong. He is large and clumsy and will suddenly stop dead on a doorway and walk backwards into me or block people in an effort to let them pass him out, he is almost tripping them up while saying 'after you'. He causes chaos in elevators.

He packs way too much and brings stupid things we can't possibly need on holiday. Often we have to have a silly argument so he leaves half it behind. I just wish I didn't have to have stupid arguments.

He doesn't eat vegetables because he doesn't like them. This gives me the rage for some reason.

I know exactly when my period is due as I get the desire to put mine under the patio.

😂😂😂😂

FrangipaniBlue · 30/08/2026 18:12

I love mine with all my heart but dear god I wish he would just stop crashing around like wreck-it Ralph!!

He seems to have a total inability to do anything quietly or with finesse….. every cupboard door is banged closed, cutlery sounds like it’s dropped in the drawer from a great height, he doesn’t open a door….. he literally bursts through it like he’s trying to surprise you…… he’s in the kitchen now and I’ve had to turn the tv up!

He hasn’t always been like this, in the last 12-18 months he seems to have got worse (FIL is the same) - even DS jokes about it!

Dp and I genuinely live in a bubble of pink mutual appreciation and extremely rare annoyance (I annoy him occasionally but frankly I would try the patience of a saint). That’s because our children are adults, our parents are nearly all dead, we have plenty of money, we’ve only been together 6 years so still fancy each other, and I don’t have periods any more. It’s normal enough to have moments of hate when you’re in the trenches buried under nappies, bills, his mother, hormone tides and emails from primary school about Wrld Fcking B*k Dy.

Yeh this is a good reminder. Im 52 and in second big relationship (18 months) and am shocked by the comments. But yeh, its true - hardly any stresses per se. Makes a huge difference.

My DH has annoying habits, but...... has anyone stopped to consider that we may annoy our DHs in many ways too ?
I'm sure I do.

And this OP must be annoying as well and she hasnt even given her icks from her OH side

BaileyHorse · 30/08/2026 11:44

Yep feel this often. You are not alone OP. Husbands are annoying and I know plenty of my friends feel the same. Nice to know I’m not alone anyway!

It must be nice not having any serious problems in life.

It is, we have great sex too ☺️

My husband drives me insane. Especially when I’m in the kitchen trying to cook, he’ll come and make a coffee with his massive elaborate coffee machine, spill stuff, get in the way, stand in front of drawers I need in.

it’s a rule now we can’t eat in silence, we need music or something. Because the noise of him eating makes me want to strangle him.

I get you, you love him, but husbands are fucking annoying. The same way it would be spending that amount of time with anyone I imagine!

🤣🤣

More fool her for staying with Vincent. There must be reasons she does.

Perhaps, despite being stupid, Vincent has a handsome pair of 'curate's eggs.'

Well, it would probably save some otherwise hopeless marriages. For a while, at least...

Behind every great man is THE FUCKING CUPBOARD HIS WIFE IS TRYING TO REACH!!!

This is so true 😆 mine is a lovely man and very little he does annoys me, BUT he always decides he needs to make a cup of tea/rummage under the sink for a screwdriver/loiter around the cutlery drawer while I’m trying to cook (I am the cook in the family, he does other jobs). My son has inherited this habit so I have both of them in there loitering around and getting in my way. It’s nice that they are fond enough of me to gravitate to the room I am in but it drives me spare.

I remind them that I’m going back and forth with hot pans and need to get at the utensils without having to circumnavigate people who have the whole of the rest of the house to loiter around in, and to please go somewhere else. So they do, only to creep back in two minutes later 😡

Your fourth husband? Or fourth kid lol

Haha kid, im one and done with the husband, never again 😅

Motuihe · 29/08/2026 23:36

I would highly recommend replacing him with a sportscar! Makes a much better companion and much more fun!

It is all a lady needs in her life :)

Found out later he was trying to flush a load of kitchen roll and a piece of cake!?!

What?

I know, right? Never did get a sensible explanation for it!

Sad isn't .? Big dollop of tolerance needed all round. Live and let live

I absolutely didn't tolerate some of their shit. Most of them were ok but some of them were psychopathic.

I was wfh on an important video call with several new clients and my DH started flushing the toilet repeatedly. My office was next to bathroom and the doors were wide open. I kept trying to wave my foot out of the doorway to get his attention but no luck so I had to try to surreptiously close the door with my foot whilst still demonstrating something and talking on the call. Found out later he was trying to flush a load of kitchen roll and a piece of cake!?! He must have flushed it a dozen times, all clearly audible on the call. When I fumed at him afterwards he just looked confused and gormless. 🙄

Ohh my husband generally is very unannoying, but there’s a few key ones that annoy me

  1. hes very handy and naturally good at things (sports, music, talking to people etc). I am not. He cannot understand this and think I’m not ‘trying’. Prob something we’ve had our biggest rows about
  2. he thinks he’s tidier then me. He is not. We will both die on this hill
  3. Has to sleep with the TV on. Drives me MAD

apart from that, he’s a bloody good man!

Nobody likes a show off ! Lol 🤣Well done him ...and you 😊

@Loulou4022 ny H used to go away every couple of weeks and it helped so much. I’d even say it was blissful, and we appreciated the time together more. When we both wfh we get under each others feet. Don’t get me started on when I’m on a call with client and he’s singing in the background (which I’m sure he does on purpose).

Also my DH left school with no qualifications and he’s done really well without them. I am a maths tutor. He’s got a really annoying habit of just asking me stuff he could do on his phone calculator. Like he will just shout them across the house. He’s stopped doing it so much now but his initial defence was “but you love maths!” Which is true but I don’t want a random times tables question when I’m cooking dinner. I guess it’s fair though because I do quiz the kids on their timetables on the spot.

Slightyamusedandsilly · 29/08/2026 16:51

Insists in moaning on to me about every bad thing in his life until HE feels better having talked it all out. Whereas by that point, I'm sick of my life and of him.

Believes everything in the mainstream media and when I tell him he could research things a bit to see if they're true, thinks I'M the mad one.

Does nothing about his mankey toenails and then thinks I'm unreasonable when I tell them he shouldn't wear sandals because they look bad.

Frequently put on clothes for a 2nd wear when they clearly have stains on them.

Thinks his POV is the normal, standard one and everyone else is deviant.

Gwenhwyfar · 29/08/2026 16:43

"It can be a hormonal thing.
As a regular time every month, pre menstrual cycle, everything, including my husband, would get on my tits, and then it would pass."

Yes, I'm currently hating my boyfriend. Pretty sure I'll be feeling better in a couple of days.
Sometimes I want to finish with him AND leave my job at that time of the month. It's lucky I can recognise it and haven't done either of those things!
Pretty scared what the later stage of perimenopause will be like for me.

Mammut · 29/08/2026 16:24

Mine needs a full time supervisor since he retired. Exasperating!

Doozycan · 29/08/2026 16:23

Waste of a thread as OP didnt bother giving any details of her own @omgcomeon
