To ask when this virus will clear

Just over a week ago, I developed a headcold, sore throat, the works. Daily temperatures. Doctor has given antibiotics and its been 3 days since I started taking them. I do feel better, the symptoms habe cleared. But, I am absolutely exhausted to the point of being agitated. Struggling in the office. Need rests throughout the day. Starving but cant face eating as I cant taste anything. Has anyone else had this bug? Im just so tired 😫

Sounds awful and sorry to hear.
Not heard of many illnesses going around recently as the heatwave most likely killed a lot of bugs, where do you think you picked that up op?

You know that antibiotics dont treat viruses. They treat bacterial infections. There is a lot of nasty stuff going around at the moment though.

I don't know. We haven't been away but obviously on trains most days. Im in bed now absolutely starving. I have had dinner, still hungry but no appetite

I do know that but the Dr thought it was a secondary bacterial infection, hence the treatment

Why oh why are you expecting to get better quickly whilst struggling in the office ?

if you want to get better quickly - just stop and give your body a chance

( and hugs if you are on a shitty contract and can’t afford to stop for being ill )

I've checked my crystal ball and can confirm that this illness will clear when the moon waxes in the house of Sagittarius.

I've Just got over a nasty sore throat virus, I could have happily just stayed in bed living on water and ibuprofen/paracetamol.

Lasted about 10 days, still have a dry mouth but, fortunately the throat is feeling better.
