To ask your advice regarding induction ranges?

We are doing up our kitchen and will be able to fit a 110cm range. There's no gas line and we want to go with induction. I have budget up to about £5k for this due to economising on other aspects of the project.

Based on looks alone, I'm leaning towards a Range master Estel Deluxe with gold trim. Here's a link for reference:

However, I once had a brand new dual fuel Rangemaster that gave me no end of problems from the start.

Does anyone have views or info on Rangemaster induction ranges? Do you have a different induction range that you recommend? Any and all advice welcome!!!

I'd used one on holiday and loved it and so when we had the kitchen made over last year I replaced the ancient gas hob with one.

Within days I knew I'd made a mistake. It wasn't a cheap one but there were so many things I hated, from the micro vibrations through pan handles, the beeping ( whenever I lifted a pan to swirl the contents) and the invisible sliding controls that didn't work with a wet finger!

I cracked last week and bought an ordinary ceramic electric hob and I am so happy I did. I should have ditched that induction months ago.

We already have induction (a smaller cooker that won't fit in the future space) and it was a rough transition.

I don't love induction, but I have become used to it and I appreciate the safety features.

The only safety feature that cut any ice with me was that the surface doesn't get so hot.

My father (who has a pacemaker) was told not to get close to it and although I am aware that there is currently no proven link between the non ionizing radiation and cellular damage, it did get me thinking about it and the vibrations it generated at the higher powers made me very uncomfortable.

Yes, I think that's a very good feature. Also, the bloody thing turns itself off whenever it thinks it has boiled over 🙃

That was actually the final straw for me last week. My potatoes splashed a little and I didn't realise it had turned off. Dinner was 30minutes late!

However the next day my apple jelly boiled over but THAT is apparently OK! Sticky apple juice all over the place and it was still boiling away happily. I could cheerfully have taken a sledgehammer to it.

A new hob was on its way within the hour..

We're about to buy a 110 induction range to replace an Everhot in the house we're buying, and I think we're going with the Falcon. I'm tempted to get gas instead, but I do like most things about induction.

I have boiled floods over on mine, so much so that I can see an actual current as it runs down the back and it doesn't turn off so possibly score one for falcon, or not if you are very safety conscious!

The boost on a small pan brimming with veg is powerful.
