To sow an alternative lawn?

I'm so fed up with the summers killing off my lawn - it's not just this year, at least 2/3 of it die every summer now (never used to!)

I'm thinking of resowing it now with clover because I've seen some posts online with photos that show clover lawns survive the heatwaves. Has anyone here done this and can you tell me how your clover lawn looks now?

Open to other lawn alternatives too!

I've been saying for years that I would love to try Sagina subulata ( sometimes known as Irish moss though its not really a moss)
The state my patch is in now is making me determined to do proceed with it.

I worked out that my tiny 4*3 metre lawn would cost £732!
Not cheap (or am I rubbish at maths)?

Good luck! You can get different shades of it so I’ve added some lime green ones for variation. Hopefully it’ll work well for you!

Could I ask where I would get this from please? Only found one nursery that sells it but it’s only one shade, not seen a lime one and it sounds exciting!

It is a bit pricey but I think that I read on there that the jumbo plugs can be cut in half and grown on a bit before planting. The seeds are quite easy to come by and easy to grow, I keep telling myself this, if I got myself organised and started to sow some now in preparation for next year.....
