*So last night, I was watching TV.* Family piled on the sofa. Kids… dogs… we were laughing and chatting and generally enjoying the craic. Also in the room, just out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Cillian Murphy. He was steadily working through a pile of ironing which had accumulated in the hot weather cause it was too hot to tackle right? He was smiling. Joining in the banter. He joined us on the sofa and then ordered a Deliveroo. Which was proper nice of him cause I was feeling a bit peckish. AIBU to have wanted this scenario to have played out before my dog woke me? She likes to get up onto the bed round about 7am. Would have been nice to have seen what Cillian ordered 😐 Yes you’re unreasonable. Get up and go walk the dog. No. It was lovely of Cillian to wade through your ironing pile and order snacks but did he pay?

I wished Cillian was doing my ironing. Myself and my dog could watch him from our sofa. 🤩😉 I think he is lovely looking.

Teach yourself ‘Lucid Dreaming’.
It’s brilliant, I taught myself before I discovered it had a name….mostly because I was bored with the falling down stairs dream! yep i managed to have a little fly around (in the dream obvs!), it’s your brain, make it do what you want then you get the best of all worlds -whilst asleep.

Sean Keavney hung my curtains and fixed a roller blind on the bedroom window.
I'd been asking DH to do it for weeks.
Marvellous man even pressed them before hanging them.

A word of caution with Ryan. He has a tendency to stop what he’s supposed to be getting on with and bursting into a musical routine… that’s a song and dance you’ll get tired of if he’s supposed to be varnishing floors and sorting out the boiler. Just sayin’ 😐

Based on this thread, last night I was living in a rather run down apartment with Ryan Gosling, I think he was going to sort it out, but I was content to put up with all sorts of deprivations in the meantime ...

My dog is highly intelligent. I run most of my important life decisions by her before making a move.

You do realise that dogs (other loving pets/creatures are available) provide much comfort to humans. They can diagnose cancers, help to alleviate depression, detect crime, rescue foolish people who insist on climbing mountains in shit weather and then get lost. You don’t
need a loving animal in your
life possibly because you are barren of emotional capacity. I cannot guess at your own personal experience.

If you wanted to appreciate the loving bond of having a faithful and devoted companion, I’d say start small; a fish or a… gerbil? 🤔

You missed the very important role of the Guide Dog who will act literally as the eyes of the person who they are partnered with. My parents adopted the retired Guide Dog of a family friend ,she was very much at home in my parents house as she visited them each weekend with her owner. She had some much needed time out.Then when she retired she had a lovely few years .
To put your complete trust in an animal is very brave.
I love watching a team, the dog has a "Yes, I'm very busy and important while being marvellous" look on its face.
They train young dogs near me ,go to the shopping centre etc. To see these giddy little creatures and know they will escort someone through life and give them independence is amazingly

I had a sexy dream about, ironically considering my user name, Noah Wyle. It wasn’t that sexy, despite NW being a really lovely bloke. I would have preferred one about Shawn coming round to mow my lawn and having to remove his shirt because of the heat.

Well sadly, nothing to report. A fairly uneventful night.

@Markisagreatname I’m not here for your amusement. I’m relating what actually happened and I think Cillian (or any of the other celebrity handymen mentioned) must be pretty decent chaps to give up their time in order to perform these let’s face it, pretty tedious household tasks.

If your imagination, waking or sleeping, doesn’t run to a little frivolity, might I respectfully suggest that you move your sinkhole of misery, to another thread? Why not try anything relating to tackling a spreadsheet, council waste complaints, tax forms? You’ll feel right at home.

I wouldn’t let Cillian waste his energy doing the ironing when he could lie down next to me and read me a lovely big fat murder mystery. I do enjoy a nice bedtime story.

However, last night Bob Dylan popped onto my local looking 30yrs younger and asked DS if he’d mind accompanying him on guitar as his usual chap was unwell and couldn’t make it.

DS said he’d do his best but he wasn’t overly familiar with his work as he was more of a metal head and maybe DH would make a better attempt? I told DS not to be so ridiculous as DH would be far too star struck to concentrate properly 🤔

Cillian does narrate some sleep stories on the Calm app - for realz you can have him read you a bedtime story.

Reminds me, I once ate my ear plugs in my sleep. I woke early the next morning as it was bin day and of course, having no earplugs, they made a right racket and I was dragged from slumber. The “where’s my earplugs?” moment came and my “dream” came back to me. I’d been chewing all night on the bloody things. It’s no wonder I’m divorced is it!!?

Mmm about to go to sleep, this thread is the perfect thing to read right before bed because maybe when I wake up in the morning Cillian will have stopped by and put my laundry away (and maybe some other things…).

This thread also reminds me of a thread ages ago about ‘everyday’ sort of things that MNetters found astoundingly sexy, and without fail, it was just men being competent and getting on with stuff (and without being asked) (the specific example that springs to mind was a man with lovely forearms rolling up his shirtsleeves and cracking on with washing up the mugs after a meeting). I mean, the amount of threads on here from women who are married to/have children with absolutely awful sounding man babies, and even with pretty good ones there’s still the dreaded mental load. Yep Cillian doing the ironing (to be fair, Cillian doing anything) and sorting dinner, what a dreamy combo.
