Lindsay Clancy was let down

For those of you who may not know, Lindsay Clancy is an American mother who killed her three children (all under age 5) then tried to commit suicide by throwing herself out of a window, and is now wheelchair bound as a result. Her defence is she was in the throws of post natal psychosis.

You can watch the full trial on Court TV. The trial is ongoing now.

She was totally let down by the system, the doctors, maybe even her husband. I’ve never watched a full trial and been so appalled at what I am seeing and hearing. Kevin Reddington her lawyer needs an award.

It is interesting to me because I have a close relative who I’ve cared for for over a decade who is regularly in psychosis. The lack of understanding of psychosis generally is wild. I My relative can slip in and out of psychosis on a minute by minute basis some days.

I really hope Lindsay’s defence lawyer gets the best outcome for her even though her life is completely ruined whatever the outcome of the trial.

Lindsay is very ill. It's sad. but legally I would have to say she knew what she was doing and carried on. She didn't hear voices, her lawyers told her to say that she did. LC refused inpatient care and told her husband she was ok with the kids when he put it to her that she might not be. She carried on trying to be Miss Perfect and control everything. The support was there for her to ask for a break and she didn't take it. And she wanted a 4th child! So unrealistic. She wasn't all there upstairs, but she wasn't legally insane. So guilty is the verdict for me.

The thing is you can’t say she was not insane. Nothing you’ve said here is anything but your opinion. People in psychosis can act rationally one minute, and irrationally the next. It’s the lack of real understanding of psychosis that is the problem here.

This is a tragic case. Those poor little children!
I think there is no doubt that Lindsay Clancy was a severely mentally ill woman, who was over medicated and under supervised by Drs.
I know the trial is about wether she was of sound mind when she killed the children or not rather than wether she killed them, but i cant help wondering why the only evidence that she killed the children is that this clearly ill woman said she did. Is that reliable ?

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I'm actually starting to wonder if she did it at all. The husband is quite suspicious in what he says and has contradicted himself on a few occasions now.
