To think Count Binface is doing a great job in the Clacton by-election?

Count down to Bin Day!

Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

Oh no, no, the embarrassment remains entirely Farage’s. He wanted this sideshow, he got it, and the investigation restarts today.

Oh well, at least Farage had to spend a few hours in his constituency. And at least Parliament with its icky rules means there is some kind of guardrail around him.

The banter outcome would be Jon Harvey deciding to stand as a candidate elsewhere in the future. I got the feeling he was quite enjoying the idea of making a difference.

The Bin didn’t win but Farage has been deeply humiliated.

And is showing his true colours.

Lying about why he wasn’t at the count, saying he’d been advised to stay away (which the police deny) while giving the real reason:

”I am damned if I am going to stand on a stage, having won a resounding victory... and be demeaned and humiliated by nobodies,"

What are the chances of him being seen in Clacton again any time soon?

The only laughing stock is the 87 per cent of you who seriously thought the comedy candidate would win. You even thought a Punch and Judy show arguing the toss about the cost of ice cream was a good idea. What happened to the grown ups being back in charge? Oh well, another result for you to scratch your head about, until the next one.

Looks like Farage is avoiding the media this morning.

He should be congratulating Binface and thanking his supporters.

He has no class at all.

His win just wasn’t a win really. He defeated a bin and now has an investigation reopened.

GF @MrsPMole ? I thought he sounded like a complete tosser from the piece I read, much sympathy.

It seems NF (despite claiming a bigly victory) will not be attending the result, because of a "credible threat" to disrupt it and also because he doesn't want to be surrounded by nonentity. Or something.

It is really grim. It’s very telling that he’s Leader, there are other elected Reform Councillors in my authority who are reasonable intelligent people who want to represent their communities and put a lot of work in to try and make a difference. It’s fairly clear that Reform - as in the party- don’t care at all about the actual people they represent, it’s about who’s best at being told what to do by Nigel.

It’s an absolute farce, he understands nothing, isn’t willing or able to learn or listen and responds to any challenge with something along the lines yeah but you are rubbish/a waste of space/some form of personal insult etc etc. it’s year 8 level of debate at best.

He is completely and embarrassingly out of his depth. We’re trying to do serious things with serious budgets and he just isn’t competent. Currently very ashamed to work for the organisation that I do and won’t be (thankfully) for much longer.

Read something earlier another Reform bod, 19/20 year old leader of a LA, banging on about 'the Establishment'. This really is part of their schtick as we know, although how anyone can lump everyone from the Greens and the far Left of Labour into that I have no idea. Falls apart even more when the suggestion is that a 5,900 year old Recyclon space warrior with a bin for a head is part of said 'Establishment'. The Establishment seems to be anyone of whatever stripe who disagrees with Farage.

In think Clacton has missed a trick. They could have had a genuinely antiestablishment MP who brought lots of attention and tourism to the area. What a shame!

Unfortunately it's possible Clacton will still be stuck when they could have had the most unique MP. In any case well done Count. I hope it leads to something even more constructive and fun!
