To think Count Binface is doing a great job in the Clacton by-election?

Count down to Bin Day!

Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

Once again, you're making things up. Just because I didn't confirm your presumptions, doesn't make me a racist. No, Reform voters are not racist, that's again something you're fabricating. They have different political views to you. You've concluded I'm racist without any strand of proof.

Edited

If that's how you'd like to refute my accusations, that's your prerogative. Many would disagree, and that is theirs.

Of course, I didn't say Reform voters are racist. I said anti racists don't vote Reform and that is quite a different statement to the one you claim I made.

@lollylimejuice Please give me an example of where the voters of Clacton have been derided? You said:

While you are all typing away, deriding the constituents of Clacton most of them are on the shop floor wondering what is going to happen next. Which tax will go up, how will they cover the cost of childcare. Who is defending the Realm, what to do about the NHS

But Farage isn’t interested in those things. His Brexit campaign has cost the less well- off people dearly. And has increased immigration. He will destroy the NHS.

I am very much interested in developing thriving communities.

We don’t get those by spouting empty rhetoric about small boats, while advising rich people how to pay less tax and trousering large amounts of money for personal use.

By continually assuming that Farage is unsuitable to stand you are deriding the voters who voted him in. He is their choice. The other parties made a mockery of our political system by backing away. If they were so sure the people of Clacton had at last seen through him, they would have put up candidates and got rid of him before the next election.

Better discussion. Why in God's name are they putting solar panels on farmland. Why not use warehouses, car parks and any public buildings. Leave our countryside alone!
Will the people who get to meet Andy Burnham on his 'tour' get to ask him any question or will the audience be picked and questions chosen in advance.
What happens to the debt he left in Manchester and WHO elected him.
Farage will survive well, he's canny!

You're demanding that I prove you've been racist on this thread. I haven't said that you have.

You said you would vote unashamedly for racist parties. What does that infer? Anti racists do not vote for Reform, neither do they say that they would openly vote for the National Front or BNP.

Only you know if you're a racist or not. I'm simply making an accusation which you are free to refute. Just like the accusations which you've made and others are free to refute, if they feel it's a valuable use of their time.

The electorate voted Farage in for up to five years. He had no business making them go to the polls again.

Excellent news. And of course he did 🤣

I’m sorry he lost. I see Farage continued as per habitual by not gracing the constituency with a visit. What an MP.

Noodledog · 14/08/2026 12:16

Do you think it was fair not to offer constituents candidates from mainstream parties to vote for?

It’s not inherent on any party to field a candidate in an election if they don’t wish to. It’s in no way unfair that they didn’t? This election didn’t need to be called. It’s been completely pointless and a waste of money.
It hasn’t shown that the people of Clacton believe Farage hasn’t broken the parliamentary rules by accepting his 5 million quid from a crypto billionaire, then voting for policies that would benefit crypto billionaires, because that’s not what they were asked to vote on.
It hasn’t done what Farage thought it would, and it’s just cost 250 grand and caused further division.

It hasn’t upset ‘the establishment’ (or the bin) as it’s just retained the status quo. I personally don’t understand how people who voted for him don’t get that but that’s the way it goes.

If found guilty he will be suspended from
parliament and if and only if that’s for more than 10 days will there be another Clacton election. Again a further waste of time and money for all involved. Which in itself is ridiculous. Farage could have saved all this by just being honest, or even undertaking to answer the questions put to him. I will never understand how his supporters don’t see this-but then I’m sure they would never understand some of my points of view either. I just hope more people question it and other things about him and Reform in general as a result of this scrutiny, and yes, the work of the bin on raising the profile of this election and the questionable activity of Farage.

Your first point makes no sense. Your second point asks me to justify something I haven't said.

"What is it about my opposition to racism that you struggle to comprehend? Is it because you're so blindsided by your own racism?"

I've put it in quotes since you forgot what you accused me of.

Look at the thread you're on and tell me you are bothered about democracy. That's after you've shown me where I have been racist. Thanks.

Where have I said any of that? You're not very good at this inquisition lark are you? However, if you are talking racism and misogyny, I expect you don't vote for any party, which begs the question, why are you bothered?

@AprilMizzel There is a long history of joke candiates in our system - they often raise important points or channel frustrations and Binface has stood in many major elections in recent years so hardly a surpise he would stand here.

I agree with you, but the history of joke candidates is of them standing alongside candidates from mainstream parties. Which is why I think what has happened in Clacton was wrong, and tbh an insult to the people living in the constituency, who deserved to have a proper choice to make.

The responsibility for which lies solely with Mr Farage.

For what it's worth, I don't think Binface was a joke candidate. I think he's an intelligent man who provided a useful exercise in satire, using humour to point out society's ills.

ClarkeandNewman · 14/08/2026 12:22

LuckyHazelFox · 14/08/2026 12:14

ClarkeandNewman · 14/08/2026 12:21

Darker · 14/08/2026 12:12

The main parties knew the outcome would be a win for Farage and were happy to let him
win and face scrutiny.

He won, as expected. And is still complaining.

Why waste more time and money now when there will be another election soon enough, either a bye election or a general election?

There won't be an early general election. I think Burnham is savvy enough to realise that people are exhausted from too many elections held for various reasons.

BIossomtoes · 14/08/2026 12:21

Noodledog · 14/08/2026 12:19

And in the meantime they are stuck with Farage because the election was not taken seriously- which isn't until 2029.

Farage will be facing the electorate again sooner than 2029. The standards committee is expected to report next month.

AprilMizzel · 14/08/2026 12:20

@Noodledog there was a similar resignation causing a by-election were candiate wanted a debate and the main parties just ignored - that MP got back in. It just didn't get the publicty this one did.

I do think the main poltical parties are happy with the outcome.

There is much more scrunity Reform and Farage - he's wasted resources and the publicty means more people are watching for the parliamentary findings and he's not come out looking great.

Country wide polls are looking less and less good for reform.

The could all still end up needing to do this all again if another by-election gets called which is possible - expect the main parties will engage then and they won't have wasted money and resources now when it can be argued it's unclear/undecided if he done anything wrong.

Noodledog · 14/08/2026 12:19

Darker · 14/08/2026 12:17

The people of Clacton will have that choice as expected, at the next General Election. Or, if there is another Bye election due to Farage being expelled.

This election should never have been called.
